"Oh God!" Olivia groaned as she threw up her hands and covered her face. She had been sitting in the same car for hours doing nothing. "I am so bored" Olivia said turning to her partner.

"Yeah same here…I'm beginning to think that he's never going to show"

"Really, your one hell of a detective" Olivia said getting annoyed.

"What's your problem?" John asked offended.

"I'm sorry John" Olivia sighed "I just really want this case to be over with, I want this guy off the streets"

"I want him off the streets just as much as you do"

"I know, I know…I'm sorry, I just can't seem to think straight"

"What's weighing on your mind?" John asked settling into his seat more.

"Nothing…" Olivia lied lately something; rather someone has been weighing on her mind and that someone was sitting next to her. It all started two weeks ago when she and John were paired together, she had gotten to know him better and gotten to see his sweet, caring side that she got to see only sometimes.

"I know your lying" John smirked.

"It's nothing really" Olivia said trying to change the subject.

"You know you can tell me" John pushed grabbing hold of Olivia's hands.

"Lately…I've been…" Olivia trailed off as she saw their suspect staring into the car "There he is" Olivia whispered, John was about to turn around to look but Olivia knew if he saw John that he'd make a run for it and they'd loose him for sure so taking her hands out of his she placed them on the sides of his face and turned him back to face her and she kissed him. Olivia watched as the suspect continued his walk down the street. Once he turned the corner she stopped the kiss and jumped out of the car and made a dash for the perp, John starting the car and went after them.

John drove Olivia to her place in silence, Olivia was sure that the man she saw was the perp, it was a simple cause of mistake identity.

"Liv?" John asked once he parked the car, the silence was getting to him "what was it that was bothering you?"

Olivia sighed again not wanting to talk about that now "it's nothing"

"You were going to tell me before, why is now different?"

"Fine…lately I've been" Olivia searched for the right words…how the hell was she going to tell him that she was fantasizing about him? "Thinking about…stuff" Olivia cursed herself for not hiding it better.

"Stuff? What kind of stuff?" John asked.

"About…you and…and me…in a relationship…more than…friends" Olivia spoke slowly and in broken sentences.

"Come again?"

"Lately I've been-" Olivia was cut off.

"No, I know what you said"

"I didn't want to tell you…you made me" Olivia protested. "Do you want to come up? Have coffee or something and talk about this?"

"Yeah" John said getting out of the car.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Look I'm sorry I freaked you out, I don't think it means anything" Olivia said sitting on her couch beside John.

"It's just that women like you aren't interested in guys like me"

"Women like me?"

"Gorgeous, intelligent women" John explained more "aren't interested in old, irritable men like me"

"Why not…why can't you be happy John?"

"I've been there to many times"

"John…" Olivia said grabbing his hands "forget about your past, forget about who've you've hurt and who's hurt you…tell me how you feel"

"I can't…I don't want to hurt you" John chocked.

"You can and you won't"

"I love you…" John said bringing his hand up to stroke Olivia's cheek before he leaned in and kissed her, and she kissed him back.

"I love you too" Olivia's smile grew wider as did Johns.
