Disclamer: I don't owe if I did, Sara and Grissom would have been together long ago.

Spoilers for episode 10 of season 9. Grissom is leaving. This is how I see the final scene. I thought of this after I re-watched goodbye and good luck.

Grissom pulled up to the house shutting off the engine almost immediately. He was finally home. No more chasing down suspects, no more getting inside the minds of killers, he was done. He was free to do what he wanted. He was free to be with her. Getting out he reached in the back and grabbed his bag. It was all he needed for now.

He didn't even have to knock. She opened the front door as he approached. She looked beautiful. She gave him that small smirk, the one that showed her beauty even more. He knew what she was thinking; he knew that she had seen this coming. The same thing happened to her months before. They both came to the same conclusion. They wanted to live in happiness, without having their faces shoved in death, without watching good people die.

"Hello Gilbert." Sara said moving back so he could enter. He dropped his bag at the door and embraced her in a tight hug.

"I love you Sara." He whispered in her ear. Inhaling her scent.

"I love you too, Gil." She whispered back.

He leaded back from the hug only to bring a hand up and cup her cheek. He leaned in, meeting his lips to hers. Giving her sweet kiss, breathless he leaned his forehead to her.

"You home?" she asked knowingly.

"Yeah honey, I am home." Taking a hold of her hand, he reached down with the other and grabbed his bag. Shutting the door with his foot, his followed his fiancé upstairs. Yes this was home.

Authors note: Despite how worried I am on how they are going to see Grissom off. I hold to the belief that they are going to give him and Sara a happy ending TOGETHER. After everything that they have put these two through, I hold to this. October is soooo far away….
