The plot is mine
Chris blinked as he stared at his beloved Kim. He knew the words he had to say and yet they didn't come out.
The birds awake
The stars shine too
My hand still shakes
I reach for you
And we meet in the sky
That happened but not the way he had planned.
"It's alright," Kim said, "You don't have to say it… I know"
But she didn't know. She couldn't possibly know. Heck he didn't even know. All he knew was he couldn't lose Kim. He loved Ellen but Kim was just… the moon to his sunlight.
Ellen could see it in his eyes.
"Kim wait," Ellen said, "I'm not the one. When you love someone you can't think of yourself. You are the moon to Chris's sunlight. He has said that before but he had said it past tense."
"I… if… in… I mean-"
Kim was startled. This was more then nice. This was love. Ellen was acting out of love.
"Chris you have always said that love is the answer. I love you. I'm not abandoning you. It's just that you need Kim. She completes you.
"I wish there was a way to work it out so that everyone wins but it's not possible. The important one here is Tam. A child needs both his parents. I will never be too far away," she promised. Then she packed up and left.
