Roy tells Johnny what has happened since she moved to Weatherfield...
Extra scene from tonight's 8:30 episode.
"When she was younger, she used to be so feisty, I just don't know what happened. She just seemed so different from when I knew her all those years ago." Johnny said, wearing his heart on his sleeve.
"She's been through a lot." Roy replied.
"Like what?" Johnny aske, turning to face Roy.
"I don't know whether it's really my place." Roy said, holding his hands up defensively.
"Please, I just want to know my daughter." Johnny begged.
"I definitely saw a turning point in her behaviour after Hayley, my wife, died." He told Johnny.
"Michelle had mentioned that they were close." Johnny said, looking down at the floor.
"Then when Carla lost her baby, she found it difficult to cope."
"Baby?" Johnny questioned.
"I think she would have been a brilliant mother." Roy added.
"What baby?" Johnny asked Roy, shocked that Michelle, or anyone else had mentioned a child.
"Carla was expecting, with Peter, her third husband." Roy began.
"I know who Peter is, was to her..." Johnny interrupted.
"I'm not too sure that anyone really does?" Roy told him.
"sorry?" Johnny asked.
"I'm not sure that anyone truly knows who Peter was to her. She really loved him, she relied on him to keep her going, especially after Hayley. When she got pregnant, she depended on him the most, and well... he let her down." Roy replied.
"I know that Peter wasn't that good to her, but I never knew that he put her through all of that." Johnny said, taking what Roy had just told him about Peter and Tina in.
"I think to some extent, Rob did add to it, in the end." Roy said, taking some of the blame off Peter and Tina.
"Rob was only protecting her. She lost her husband and her baby in the end, I don't blame him." Johnny said, defending his actions, although knowing that it was wrong, he knew that Rob was looking out for his sister, which was more than he was doing for Carla at that point in time.
"I think that Rob's actions did contribute to some of her heartache." Roy argued.
"I don't blame him though, not now I know why. If that was me..." Johnny told him, angry at the fact that he could have protected Carla, having told the truth all those years ago.
"Rob killed a young innocent girl." Roy reminded Johnny, slightly annoyed at the fact that he believed Johnny to be thinking beyond the point.
"And Peter destroyed my daughter, wrecked her family and killed her baby." Johnny said, raising his voice slightly.
"It wasn't quite like that." Roy said.
"Sorry, I didn't mean..." Johnny explained.
"No, that's quite alright." Roy understood.
"I'm glad you were there to help her through it." Johnny smiled. "You've been a good friend to her, more like a Dad. Thank you."
