"So, where are you taking me?" I ask my best friend, Catt, who's sitting in the driver's seat with a smug smile on her face. She's driving her shiny new purple Corvette. "Can you give me any hints?"

"All right," she says, sounding a little sad. "I'll give you one hint."

"Goodie." She's been waiting for today - Friday - all week. She wouldn't let anything slip, except the fact that I'm meeting someone.

Catt's eyes briefly shift to mine. I examine them - they're beautiful, in their own way. They're blue, with a hint of hazel in the middle. "It's a landmark to you."

Good grief, Catt, I think. I know exactly where we're going.

About five minutes later, we arrive in front of a small café - the Red Mug - and I feel my heart skip a beat... in a bad way. This is where I first met the man who I'd fallen in love with that one long year ago. He and I had been ready to marry, but we'd been intercepted when he was taken to jail for something he didn't do, and was executed. My heart had broken in three parts the night of his death, and they were still not back together. I let the question that had been floating around in my head surface. Why did she take me here?

My thoughts are interrupted by Catt's preppy voice. "We're here!"

"Why..." I don't know how to continue, so I just shake my head and get out of the Corvette. "So, who am I meeting?"

Before Catt can answer, a man walks out of the Red Mug and hugs Catt. "Catt, good to see you!" He looks over at me, and our eyes lock. "And is this...?"

"Emily," Catt says, also looking at me. "This is Indy. Indy, Emily."

Indy walks over to me, never taking his eyes off of me. "It's nice to meet you, Emily..." he says, putting his hand out to shake.

Why is he staring at me? "Uh, nice to meet you, too, Indy."

"So, I'll leave you two to a nice meal, okay?" Catt comes over to stand next to us, and Indy finally looks away.

I nod and move to the other side of the Corvette, and so do the other two. Catt gets into her car, starts the engine, and waves as she pulls away. "Bye, Catt!" I say, even though she can't hear me. I wonder about this Indy guy. Why would Catt bring us here? Does she want me to fall in love with him?

No way. Not again.
