I walked into school and waved goodbye to my brother, Nick. I had gotten my drivers license a few weeks ago and ever since I've been having to drive my brother everywhere. Yea, it stinks. But I get paid for it by my parents. Anyway, after saying goodbye, I walked over to my friends and said hi. I walked over to my locker with my friend Delaney and we talked while unloaded my things from my backpack.
"How was your weekend?" She asked.
"Great! I went over to Samantha's"s house and Matt joined after a few minutes and we had races up and down the street." I answered.
"Yea, I remember that. I'm sure you loved it." Delaney grinned.
"It was dreamy!" I said pretending to be gazing out of a window.
"I have to make up a test for Miss. Shelstad. I'll see you later!" Delaney said as she laughed.
"okay! See you later!" I said as she walked away. I was almost done unpacking and unloading my things when I heard someone say:
"Hey, Maria can I talk to you for a sec?" I turned around to see Matt staring down at me.
"What are you doing here? But, yea you can talk to me." He shuffled uncomfortably and said
"uh, I was wondering if you wanted to go out sometime uh, to the movies or something."
"I'd love to!' I said standing up. "Took you long enough to figure out you like me."
" It hasn't been that long."
" yes it has!!! It's been 2 years!"
"oh." He said. "I thought it was 1."
"Boys." I said shaking my head.
