Author's Note: Set in season 5. After Liddy was born, before Avery got kidnapped, and after Liz broke up with Carol.

Avery's POV

It started out as simple comfort, well at least I think it did. Liz Lemon, my husband's mentee, has had a series of failed relationships. And recently she had broken up with her boyfriend. Liz was a little sad and was going to give up on dating and become a spinster just like she rightfully is. And Jack, my husband, decides to convince her otherwise. A few weeks ago they went out for lunch. Yeah that's okay, nothing wrong with two friends going out for lunch. But two friends, where one is married, going out for breakfast, lunch, and dinner (Every day this week!) is not okay. That is why today I'm going to ask him to breakfast before he goes out with Liz (That doesn't sound good. Why am I in competition for my own husband?).

Saturday

I walk in to see Jack sitting down at the table, fully dressed. He was reading the newspaper and had a half full cup of coffee on a coaster. I walk up to him and push the newspaper away from his face.

"Good Morning sweetie. Do want to go out for breakfast?" Or better yet stay in and away from her.

"Oh, I'm sorry Avery I've already made plans." Seriously? Did you already have all of these outings pre-planned since last week?

As if the answer wasn't obvious I clench my teeth and ask "With whom?" He lifts his now empty cup of coffee to his lips and mumbles her name.

"Sorry didn't catch that." I say angrily just enough to be noticeable.

"With Lemon. I'm going to breakfast with Lemon." He admits.

I turn around as if to walk back to our room. "Really what are you going to do after that? Go to lunch then dinner then fuck her afterwards?" I whisper quickly and irritably.

"Sorry didn't catch that." He says mocking me.

I turn my head around promptly and smile. "I didn't say anything honey!" He knows I'm lying. I can feel the burning glare in my back as I slowly walk to the bedroom.

"Well I'm going to go now." He says.

"Have fun." I say quietly.

He gets up from the table and leaves out the door. Though I can't see him I'm pretty sure he left in a hurry. To go have breakfast. With Liz.

Damn it!

Monday

I've talked to all my female friends and they've all said the same thing: I should be worried. But when I talk to my male friends they've said: It depends. Is the woman attractive? And then I came to the conclusion that I have absolutely nothing at all to worry about.

I went to his office today to see how he was doing. Or sabotage anything he had planned for today. He's not here. I wonder where he might be for a second then I turn on my heel and almost walk out of the door when I see her come in. She stops in her tracks when she sees me. I suppose she might be wondering the same thing as me.

"Hey Avery." She finally says after a long and awkward silence.

"Hello Liz." I reply.

"So... How's Liddy?" She's trying to break the tension that neither of us should even know about. And it's kind of pissing me off.

"She's good."

"Good. Um... Have you seen Jack?"

"No. I was kind of thinking you have."

At that comment she tries so hard not to scowl at me. "Ha! You thought I've seen him recently." She says on the verge of becoming pissed.

She turns around and walks over to that assistant of his. I can also hear her cursing under her breath. "Jonathon where's Jack?" she ask. He's about to say some thing until he notices me. He instead scribbles something on a post-it note and gives it to Liz. She reads it then giggles. She turns her attention back to me and says. "Jack's kinda busy. You might see him when you get home though." She walks back to the elevator and presses the down button.

"Might?" I say irately. I purposely linger around in his office so I won't have to ride the elevator down with her. Then when I actually start walking towards the elevator it hits me. Why the hell couldn't Jonathon say whatever he scribbled on the paper out loud? It was about my husband. And why'd she giggle? What's so funny?

I turn around and face his assistant. "Jonathon." He looks up at me and has a slightly annoyed expression. "What did you write on the post-it?"

"Mr. Donaghy told me it was strictly F.L.E.O."

"What?" I ask.

"For Liz's eyes only."

I'm pretty sure I made an almost frighten look. I was nearly running back to the elevator. Boy was I furious.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. And the beholder thinks its LIZ.

Wednesday

I've been offered to do a hot-blondes-in-weird-places initiative. I guess I'll ask Jack if he minds but I doubt he will even care.

It's around 11:30 p.m. and Jack is still reading... What is that? A script? How could he have been laughing for a good 30 minutes? It's a script from TGS with Tracy Jordan.

"I have to go to Asia for a NBC News initiative." I told him as I sat on the couch next to him.

"Uh-huh." He says between chuckles.

"You'll be here all alone taking care of Liddy by yourself."

"Sherry will be right?" He says with his eyes glued to the script still.

I start to lie to see if he'll start listening. "No. I fired her."

"Oh okay." He says still not listening.

"And her last paycheck was all the money in you bank account."

"Okay."

I know this will get his attention. "And I hired Liz to take her place."

He immediately turns his head to me and says "Really?"

"No!" I say crossly.

He narrows his eyes at me then turns his attention back to the script. That's enough. I take the script and throw it on the table.

"Jack, do you even care that I'm going off to Asia and you probably won't see me for a few months?"

"Of course I do, Avery. It's just that my minds been on other things lately."

"Other things or other people?" I think aloud.

He gets kind of mad at that comment. "What's that supposed to mean?"

"You and Liz! You two have been going out every meal of the day since last week!" This wasn't the time to finally blow off steam.

"What exactly are you implying Avery?" He's mad now.

I settle down and lower my voice. I try to say this statement the calmest way I can. "You two are having an affair."

He didn't deny he didn't confirm he just got up and said "I going to bed."

I had flight for 3:00 a.m. so I should get packing. I waited till I knew he was asleep. But when I went in our bedroom I could tell he went to sleep recently because his phone was still on.

I take a peek to see what he was doing on there. Texting Liz. I pick it up to read there text.

Jack: Avery accused me of having an affair.

Liz: With me?

Jack: Yes.

Liz: Honestly, do you blame her Jack?

Jack: No, no I don't really.

Liz: Oh yeah. I should've told you earlier. I think she's been suspicious for a while. Like the other day we were talking and she had this death glare on the entire conversation.

Jack: Ha ha. For an hour she asked me why a message to you was "strictly F.L.-"

That annoying ring every time he got text chimed through the room. I threw the phone up in the air in shock and as it came back down I tried to stop the phone from juggling in my hands. I just dropped rather then wasting time.

"Shit!" I say just above a whisper.

Jack stirs in his sleep a little but doesn't wake up. "Let's see who the text is from." I say to myself while picking up the phone.

Liz: I think she should back off. Can't two friends just hang out?

When I read that I think about what she just texted. Perhaps she's right maybe I should 'back off'. I sigh and put his phone back on the night stand.

Don't assume things unless you have actual proof.

Friday (Well its Thursday in New York)

It's 9:17 a.m. here so I suppose it's around 8:00 p.m. at home. I guess I'll call him and apologize.

"Hello?"

"Hey Jack. I'm sorry that I blew up yesterday."

"It's ok Avery. Lemon and I have been spending a lot of time together lately."

As of now I feel happy again. Not worried about my fear of my husband cheating on me with a 4 when I'm obviously an 11(On a scale of 1 to 10). I was about to say something else when I hear a women laugh in the background.

"Is that Liz in the background?"

"Yes. She's playing with Liddy."

"Shouldn't she be asleep?"

"She should, but tonight she's very over excitable."

"Aww. I wish I could see her."

"I'm pretty sure she misses you too Avery."

There's a pause. Then Jack says "I should tell you the whole truth."

What. "Whole?"

"Lemon and I kissed the first time we went out for lunch."

The laughing in the background stops, even from Liddy.

"Sorry, I have to go." I say hastily. I hang up the phone and bite my lip.

Bullshit!
