I float in space, or what seems like a meaningless void. There is only darkness in front of my eyes, and sense of unease fills me. My shoulders brush the sides of what seems like other bodies beside me. One of them is trembling. A whimper rings out, and I recognize that I am not the only woman paralyzed here. What seems to be the same girl starts to push away from me, and from what tell, is moaning in agonizing pain. I call out to her,but only have my voice muffled by what seem to be a wade of cloth in my mouth. The girl suddenly peels away from me, and I hear the sound of light footsteps drift away from me. I moan a sound of must have been able to see through this darkness and escape whatever room we were stuck in. I let my head roll backwards.
Thank God.
I awoke gasping. Sweat rolled off of my numb skin. The air was thick with humidity, and I could taste the moisture rolling off my tongue. Lurching my back upwards I realized that I could move again. Whatever restraints had been holding me back had been removed, except for my hands. The tight barbed cuffs are still wrapped around them, and the chain is wrapped around my back. I sit up. The room is still dark, except for now I sense that someone has placed me on a table, and away from whomever was lying beside me. I swivel my head around, looking for some glimmer of light.
"Hello! Hello?"
A shuffle of light footsteps responds to my left. I turn my head to face the unknown figure. "Hello? Who are you?"
I struggle to lean over and find the lip of the table. I need to leave, or at least make sure this person is able to hear and help me. I sense the footsteps coming closer. Perhaps it was the girl! Maybe she found a way out and came back for us!
"Help me please! I can't see you! Did you find a way out?"
A chilled breath suddenly ran over my face, and a drop of saliva dropped down upon my nose.
This was not the girl.
A large soft hand grabbed my jaw, and another one began to cradle my hair. In an air of panic, I kicked in the direction of the figure, hoping that maybe if I hurt it in someway they would let go of my face. With the reflexes of a gun, one of the hands released my mouth and snached my leg out of the air.
"Now, Now Frau, you calm down. Ja?"
His german accent was unnerving. He spoke with such a calming confidence. It paralyzed my core. I almost wanted to say yes. Instead I whimpered.
"Were you the one who brought me here?"
"Ya, Frau."
"Where am I?"
"Somewhere where I am."
"Who are you…"
His chuckle echoed off the walls.
"So many questions…..I am sorry Frau, I cannot answer all off them yet, Ya?"
"Please let me go…Please!"
"I am sorry Frau, you stay here for now, Ya? Better if you do."
The man suddenly stepped away from the table, and removed his grasp on my thigh. His other hand gently swum through my hair before quickly dropping away. The footsteps began to walk away.
"Where are you going! Please don't leave me here in the dark!"
