It would have been another peaceful day in the Fortemps Manor, had it not been the funeral of Haurchefant. His beloved, Miqo'te female, Shaline Lawrence, was among the attendance, sitting with his family. They were honored to have her among them. It was just a quiet and private ceremony. Only family and close friends of Haurchefant were in attendance. No adventurers were allowed at this funeral, save for his beloved. Shaline watched as they interred Haurchefant into the Fortemps Crypt. His father, Count Edmond de Fortemps, looked like he could break down any moment. Even though Haurchefant wasn't one of his legitimate sons, he was still proud of Haurchefant. "Emmanelain and I are planning to erect a gravestone at Providence Point, looking over the city our brother dearly loved." A tall elezen male, eldest son of the Fortemps Manor, Artoirel, leaned to whisper into the ear of the Miqo'te.

Shaline was trying her best not to break down. She was there in Haurchefant's dying moments. "A smile better suits a hero" were the final words of her beloved. She wanted to smile for him. She did smile for him as his last view of her. But she found it difficult to smile now. Artoirel placed a hand on her shoulder. And that did it. She broke down. Artoirel drew her in as she cried. They had only been married for a month before he passed, and Artoirel knew that she wouldn't be the same now. When they finished interring Haurchefant, Count Edmond left and returned to the manor. His two remaining sons looked to each other and knew he needed his time to grieve. Artoirel and Emmanelain walked Shaline to the main Aetheryte plaza to meet her friends in the Shadowstorms. They had work to do.
