Waiting
He watched them silently, willing himself in the shadows. He knew that there was no point, that the blood sucker sensed his presence but he chose to stay there, just looking. And maybe wondering, but he knew that there was no chance. That the girl with the beautiful smile and innocent eyes would never be his.
He saw the girl trip on her own feet, but not even come close to hurting herself thanks to the quick reflexes of him.
'She trusts him even though he's broken her so many times' he thought bitterly 'of course the sun is too ordinary to compete with an eclipse.'
He saw them again, this time by accident. They were just walking around in a park. He knew that the girl would probably be lost without someone else. He also knew that he could just leave her and never look back. Just like he did before.
"and I'll be there to pick up the pieces" He whispered determinedly.
As he turned to leave he watched his rival and his love looking into each others eyes, not even caring about his inconvenient presence.
He knew that he could never compete with that. But he would wait, the sun is easily blocked by an eclipse, but eventually it leaves and lets the sun have its former place. Right now all he could do was linger on. And hope.
