Cast lists had gone up for the fan-made musical that "Team Starkid" was doing, and Joe had rushed down to see it as soon as he found out it was out. Everybody else who he knew that had auditioned already knew what parts they got, but he refused t let the tell him what he got. In his rush, Joe ran into a petite brunette who was heading the same way. "I'm so sorry! I didn't see you there!" he gasped, she had turned around, she had beautiful, delicately sculpted features, and chocolate brown eyes.
"Oh no, it's fine! I wasn't paying attention, either! I was just going to look at the cast list!"
"Really? The, ah, what's the name? It's long, er, oh! I got it! A Very Potter Musical!"
"Yeah, that's the one! And it is rather hard to remember."
"Do you know where exactly it is? All I know is that it's down the hall."
"That's all I know too, why don't we find it together?"
"Sure."
They walked down the sidewalk, and entered the building together. Joe was very about this new development, he not only got to do a new musical about his favorite books, but he got to get to know this lovely girl. "By the way, what's your name?"
"Lauren Lopez, how 'bout you?"
"Joe-" he was cut off from a groan, "what?"
"Not another one!"
"Umm…"
"It's just we've already got two Joes, Joe Moses and Joey Richter, and that already mixes us up enough, now we've got another one! What's your last name? We call Joe Moses by his last name, he hates it, says he's not some old guy who likes to throw down his staff and have it turn into a snake, and that's not to mention wandering around the desert for 40 years."
"Walker. You can't really get anything out of that."
"Oh, I'm sure we can, we're very creative and random."
Joe watched as she bounced off, having just seen the cast list. He quickened his pace and called out, "Don't tell me what I got!" He slowed back down to his original pace, trying to act confident, for some unexplainable reason, he really wanted to impress Lauren. She was the first girl he had met that really seemed comfortable with herself, and the thought thrilled him.
"Hurry up! If you don't get here soon, I'm gonna look and tell you what part you got!" she said playfully. Joe sped up. "Look on three?" Lauren asked.
"Sure."
"One, two…three!"
They both looked down the list, and Joe had to look straight down to the bottom, he had gotten Voldemort. Smiling, he thought of how much fun he could have with that role. His train of thought was broken when Lauren squealed. "Who'd you get?"
"Draco Malfoy!"
"Malfoy?" he laughed, not able to see the brown-haired girl as a boy and a blonde.
"Don't laugh! You're playing Voldemort!"
"Yeah, you have a point. But that does mean that we'll probably have some rehearsals together, right? After all, you sort of are a "bad guy."
"Yeah, but I come around in the end! You never do!"
Their playful banter continued until they reached the parking lot. "I guess we'll be seeing each other soon, but how 'bout I give you my number?" Joe asked her.
"I'd love that! Prepare for random texts at four o'clock in the morning!"
"Sure, like you'll be awake then."
"You never know!"
Having put his number in her contact list, they had to part ways to their separate cars. "See you at rehearsal!" Joe yelled across the lot, she waved back. Well, this is going to be fun! Joe thought happily as he drove to his dorm.
