Vega on trial
Vega stood in the center of a black room. In front of him was a brown table where Warden Sharp, Dr. Jerimiah Arkham, and Dr. Alyce Sinner sat. "Greetings Dr. Alexander. Do you know why you are here?" The Warden said with a cruel smile.
Vega glared at the warden immeditely removing his smile. "Yes I do. You wish to have me removed from Arkham."
The Warden shifted uncomfortablely as he replied, "We feel that the incident with your latest paitient shows we need to reevaluate your position."
"And If I call you predjudcial Mr. Sharp?" Vega asked.
"Why would you call me that?" Sharp said his face turning red with anger.
"Because I am pushing For Ms. Isly's and Mr. Dent's release. Your afraid I am being played. You see this place as a prison and not an asylum. Your blinded by fear that you fail to see hope in the eyes of certain inmates. I show no fear to any inmate here and I grasp that hope and show it to them as well as the road to freedom."
"Yet that appoarch failed with Killer Croc." Dr. Sinner spoke up.
"Killer Croc is nothing more than an animal. He thirts for blood and nothing else." Vega replied shifting his sharp blues eyes toward her.
"Yes well after your session with him he has become far more agressive. Many of the guards here are worried about his escape."
"Killer Croc was given the opportunity of a life time and threw it away like the fool he was. He wants revenge on me because he feels I made a fool of him. The reason he hasn't escaped yet is because he is biding his time. If I am forced to leave he will go berserk and escape thus endangering more lives. If you would like I can help lower his chances."
"Yes well Croc is not our only concern. We are also concerned about Scarecrow." Dr. Arkahm spoke up.
"Has he returned?" Vega asked already knowing the answer.
"No but rumor has it he has taken a different approach to his study in D.C. His victims have been linked to many criminal activities. Thus he is being praised a hero. It coincides with you method of rehabilitation."
Vega tooke a deep breath before replying, "I did suggest that a new method of studying fear could work to his advantage as being a hero. When he left so abrubtly I figured I had failed and that I would be targeted for interfereing in his experiment."
"With that approach Scarecrow would never be able to leave." Dr. Arkham replied. "You know that. Did you help escape?" Dr. Arkham asked with a smile.
Vega smiled back and replied, "I could ask you the same with a dozen paitients. Why does Arkham have such a high escape rate? It appears someone has been helping paitients escape long before I showed up."
This time it was Jerimiah Arkham's turn to turn fire red with anger. "You apparently do not understand the position you are in. We could easily have you fired and even have your license removed."
"Yes you can. But you won't." Vega replied.
"And what makes you so confident that we won't?" Dr. Sinner asked.
"Because as I have watched you. Made notes as well as found evidence of funding mysteriously disappearing. Paitients who have not received the right meds in order to keep them in Gotham's pit of Hell." The three turned pale with fear as silence covered the room. "Of this is not blackmail." Vega continued. "I know when I am being bullied. I will admit I have made mistakes, but none as bad as any of you. I will leave when I need to and not when you want me to. I have made amazing break throughs with Ms. Isley, Mr. Dent, and Ms. Quinn. I am needed here to help those paitients and until then I will not be bullied out. If you feel the need to punish me then limit me to those three until I can prove myself a capable doctor. Good day." After Vega finished he left the room leaving the three in shock and embarassment.
