Prologue

I ran. That is all that was on my mind. I scrambled over the cracked streets, soaked with mud and ash. Then a jet black wolf jumped onto my path. I rammed into him and fell. I tumbled and ended up on my side.

A larger wolf, loomed over me, he bit onto my neck and just let me bleed. I whimpered as my eyes blurred until I could see nothing.

Chapter 1

I awoke to the voice of a young boy. I didn't have the strength to open my eyes; I just lay there, in my wolf form. "Kiba its one of our kind" the boy yelled. I twitched my ear, listening.

I heard multiple footsteps edge closer to me. "Leave her. She won't make it anyways" a deeper voice echoed. "Tsume! We can't leave her!" the boy yelped. I felt something brush my head, petting me.

My eyes forced themselves open. I saw a girl with ruby red eyes and light pink hair. I didn't object to her petting me, it felt wonderful. I saw five wolves surrounding me. I struggled to my paws, sitting up. Dizziness blurred my vision before I fell over again.

The gray wolf snarled at the white one "Leave her, she's dying." I winced at those angry words. The white wolf sighed "We need to leave, but I cannot leave one of us." The light tan, slightly chubby staring at me "Me and Blue can try to lift her?" The white wolf nodded.

I passed out as they lifted me, my eyes fluttered shut, not even sure if this was a dream or not.

I awoke surrounded by trees. It smelled beautiful, pine and grass with a mixture of mud and water. I stood up. The 5 wolves were not there, but there was the ruby eyed girl. She spoke "Hello." She smiled kindly. I sat down, in my wolf form "Hi. Where'd the other wolves go?" I questioned.

She smiled again "They are fine, they went into town." Her voice was sweet and was a little louder than a whisper, it was soothing. "What happened to your neck?" she asked, still smiling. I looked at my neck and the area surrounding. It was soaked with blood. "I'm not sure." I truthfully answered.

The reddish brown, youngest wolf appeared. "Oh hey you're awake!" He said happily. He had 3 silver bracelets on his front paw; they clanged together as he bounded over to me.

"Hi." I said quietly. The young wolf said cheerfully "I'm Toboe. What's your name?" I answered "Vina." The gray wolf appeared; he had a large X-shaped scar across his chest. The young red wolf barked at the gray wolf "Hey Tsume, this is Vina!" I nodded to me, he just returned a glare.

Then the tan and black wolf appeared, they nodded to me. Then lastly the white wolf returned, by then it was dark. They made a fire, it was cold and muddy in these woods. The white wolf had turned out to be named Kiba, the black she-wolf was Blue, the tan wolf was Hige, and the ruby eyed girl was Cheza.

I asked Kiba "Where are you guys headed?" Kiba answered "Paradise." My eyes widened at the word. My mother told me stories of the place, I always just thought it was a myth. "Where'd you come from?" I asked. "Freeze city." He replied.

I heard of the place, it was full of scientists and studies, I guess that explains Cheza. I nodded "Well… can I come with you?" I asked. Kiba nodded. Tsume scoffed "She'll slow us down, with that kind of wound she'll be panting the entire time, and I say we leave her." I turned to the gray wolf and snarled, getting to my paws.

Toboe stood up "Hey there's no need to fight about it? She can come; it looks like her neck is healing." Tsume sat down and turned to the fire, I did so as well.

After a night of talking we all eventually fell asleep.
