I like the idea that Fred and Angelina's relationship lasted just for the night of the Yule Ball, maybe a couple of days after that. After that she was all George's, got that? Just a one-shot of the twins getting ready for the ball, not really taking it seriously as usual. Not sure whether to leave it like this or continue making it a story? Read and Review, or else I'll set my house elf on you!

She's a good laugh

Fred Weasley stood examining himself anxiously in the full length mirror in their dormitory. He could already hear the growing chatter from the common room downstairs, and could feel the excitement building inside him. This was going to be a good night. Lee Jordan clapped him on the back before heading down the stairs to meet his date, leaving just the twins in the dormitory on their own. Fred adjusted his cuffs and checked his face for spots. Flawless.

George emerged from the bathroom and wiped his face on a clean towel, before picking up some aftershave and spraying it casually around him. He walked over to the mirror, nudging Fred out of the way.

"Nervous?" He asked his brother in a bracing tone. Fred shook his head.

"No way mate! It'll be fun!" he was smiling happily as he said it, and George knew he was telling the truth.

"But I thought you really liked Angelina?" George asked, confused, "I thought you were already planning on asking her out before you did it in front of Ron?"

"No way! I mean, yeah, if I ended up without a date then I would have asked her as friends but as my date?" Fred asked, laughing, "She's too much competition for me mate. Too much of a handful. She could have any bloke eating out of her hands at any point she wants, but she chose to go with me as a friend. I'm quite pleased! She's a good laugh, I just thought she'd be more fun than some soppy romantic type, at least Angelina will dance!" a

George smiled, that was good, not least because he knew his brother wouldn't take too well to being bossed around by one of his oldest friends. Being in a relationship would change everything, they'd argue more for a start.

"But you, Georgie boy!" Fred continued mockingly, "You've got Olivia right where you want her, and yet you still maintain you haven't snogged her yet!"

"Yeah, well why would I want to? She helps me with charms and she's a good laugh. There's nothing going on." George said, raising an eyebrow at his brother's childish attitudes to dating.

"Course."

"Shut up, Fred." George punched his arm gently, they were messing around as usual. They sat down on their beds, pulling their shoes on, and making last minute adjustments to their hair.

"Seriously, Fred?" George asked, his tone more serious, "Angelina does know that you aren't actually going out, doesn't she? She won't get upset or anything?"

Fred eyed his brother carefully, and comprehension dawned on his face.

"Do you like her?" he asked, a smile playing around his lips, "It's okay if you do"

"Well… I don't know. I might, I might not. She is pretty I suppose." George considered the possibility of going out with Angelina Johnson. It looked too competitive. "I think for the meantime Freddie, she's all yours."

"As friends though, she's not my girlfriend," Fred assured his brother.

"Course," George said. They smiled at each other, both contemplating the mystery of having an actual relationship with someone. Nah! That could happen later, right then they had a ball to get to, and two pretty dates (as friends) waiting for them. They did a mock boxing warm up, laughing as they punched the air.

"Lets go and get `em, Georgie!" Fred shouted, and George roared in agreement. They made their way down the stairs and spotted the two girls chatting in the corner. They both looked beautiful, but they were still only friends, for now.

Review, NOW! cheers! :)
