"For how long?" Magnus asked releasing his boyfriend from his embrace and giving Alec his best pitiful look
"Two and half months" Alec replied
"Ugh" Magnus groaned falling onto the bed, grabbing Alec by his waist band and pulled him down with him. "What the hell are they going to have you do? What the hell am I going to do"
"Magnus, you have plenty to do between your clients and keeping your cat alive" Alec said with a smile.
"But what about the days, or nights, that I just want to see you"
"You're the High Warlock of Brooklyn, you can figure something out"
"You act like you don't care if you see me or not." Magnus said sounding a little hurt
"Ok, that sounded a little rude but I'm counting on you figuring something out" Alec amended
Magnus just looked over Alec for a moment seeming to ponder what he was about to say. But instead of saying anything he leaned over Alec so close he could have kissed him then whispered "you're going to miss this."
Alec leaned up to give the warlock a kiss but Magnus backed away before their lips met. and smiled devilishly in response to the frustrated wanting look Alec gave him.
"You, are, a tease" Alec said sitting up and his expression went from frustrated and want to just frustrated.
"Who's teasing who?" Jace asked coming into Alec's room
"Nothing" Alec said avoiding eye contact with his Parabatai
"You know, as much as you'd like to believe I have no idea what you two get up to, I do." Jace said "But that's besides the point I was told to come get you because it's time to go"
"Ok, I'll be down in a minute"
"Right, that's what you said last time and I come back to talk of teasing. But anyways I'm sure mom is only giving you a minute this time before she comes to get you herself." Jace said exiting the room
"Bye Magnus" Alec said standing up. And as he got to the door of his room he looked back and said "Magnus, are you really not going to give me a goodbye kiss? I mean we would both have to wait two and half months before we get this chance again"
Magnus got up and within a couple strides he was at the door "I was waiting for you to ask" Magnus said and slid his hand through Alec's messy black hair grabbing a handful as he pressed Alec against the frame of the door.
Their mouths meet as Alec's back hit the door frame. and with that, a gasp escaped Alec's mouth from the suddenness of it all. Alec's hands went up the warlock's back and they stayed together like that until the sound of impatient footsteps came up the stairs. Alec broke the kiss and slid out from between the door frame and his boyfriend then smiled as he turned to go.
The footsteps stopped at the top of the stairs and Alec's mother called "come on Alec it really is time to go."
"I know, I'm coming" Alec replied as he walked
Magnus watched him go and right before Alec turned the corner Magnus caught up and laced his fingers in the shadowhunter's. Alec's hand twitched but Magnus wasn't going to let his hand go.
"Don't" Magnus whispered in Alec's ear "let me walk you down, this is the last moment we get for a while and I want to make it last."
