Summary: How I think our favorite Neptune citizens spend their Wednesday nights.
"Veronica! Where's the popcorn!"
"I have no idea. Why didn't you look for it earlier?"
"I didn't know there was going to be a issue if I waited!"
"What are you, new at this?"
"Hey, I just want some popcorn. That's not a crime!"
"Both of you shut up!"
Veronica turned to face Wallace, who was jabbing the volume button angrily.
"Hey, it's not even on yet."
"I want to be able to hear the teaser."
"The teaser is never important." Duncan replied, sitting next to Veronica with popcorn bowl in hand. As Veronica snaked her hand towards the bowl, Duncan moved it out of her reach. "You didn't help make it, you don't get any!"
As Veronica's face formed a pout, the doorbell rang.
"Is it on yet? What did I miss?" Logan asked, not bothering to wait for anyone to open the door and let him.
"No, you're fine." Wallace replied. "What took you so long?"
"Dick challenged me to a video game marathon." Logan replied, sitting in the chair next to the couch.
"And you couldn't tell him you had to leave?" Veronica questioned.
"No!" The boys replied in unison.
"You can't just walk out on a challenge." Wallace explained.
"It's like admitting you're not manly enough to win." Duncan said.
"And we all know I'm more of a man than Dick is." Logan interjected, reaching towards Duncan for popcorn.
"Right. Of course you are." Veronica replied, snatching a handful of popcorn as Duncan offered the bowl out to Logan. "It's my house!" Veronica replied as Duncan glared at her.
"Previously on Lost…"
"Quiet!" Logan and Wallace yelled as scenes from last week's episode began playing across the screen.
Just as Jack began to tell Sun about the time he lost his wedding ring, a cell phone went off.
"Turn it off!" Logan said as Wallace extracted the phone from his pocket.
"Sorry, sorry!" Wallace replied, checking the called id.
Jackie.
"Hey!" Wallace said into his phone, picking his way around Duncan and Veronica's entangled legs and walking towards the hallway.
As Jackie began telling Wallace about this skank in her gym class who tried to make her look bad in front of the coach, Wallace's gaze drifted over to the illuminated TV where the other three sat, silent as they watched.
"Jackie, I'm kind of busy. Can I call you later? No, I'm not blowing you off. You know it's Wednesday! Jackie, I really don't have time. Bye." Wallace said, hanging up without waiting for a reply.
"No one messes with my Wednesday nights." Wallace whispered to Veronica as he sat down.
