Toy
Q238-inspired

Warnings: Spoilers for Chapter Q238
"Is just an old version."
Piercing pain was all that the phrase brought. The lithe blue-haired (ex) phantom sixth man tried to not let the pain show on his face. Yet, he failed to. Kuroko Tetsuya had simply grown to be too expressive the more he spent time with Seirin's basketball club. The widening of teal coloured eyes, the frown that graced his lips were all telltale signs of this.
He was a disappointment. Just as he had disappointed Akashi Seijuuro. Taken his ex-captain's unspoken warning of Kuroko's fading misdirection ability and thrown it right back in his face as if it was trash.
And perhaps, he deserved it. Deserved those harsh words spoken to him, speaking of the cold hard truth. The truth that he was nothing more than an unwanted toy now. A toy which had been crafted by a royalty curious to see how far he could go. The king that had picked him right up just as he was about to quit basketball and given him new abilities. Molded him to something worthy. And when he was bored of Kuroko, he wanted to see how far he could break the teal-eyed male.
And as the hierarchy system works, he did break Kuroko. Broken the toy into pieces of unmendable shards with the arrival of a new replacement. A better of the two.
However, as the saying goes, what waits at death is but another adventure. Hence, another Kuroko was reborn in that period of time. The one determined to play alongside his team and achieve victory against Rakuzan. The one who was no longer merely Akashi's plaything.
A/N: Sorry it's so short! I hope I presented the ...raw feeling that just started to well up in me as I read Q238 ;_; haha. Thanks for reading! Please kindly R&R!
