First fic, please be nice...
This is a Kai/Tala fic. Sorry to all Kai/Rei fans. Kai is marrying Rei, his previous lover is Tala.
Kai and Rei have been together for six months. Kai hasnt let Rei dominate him yet but Rei is hoping that Kai would be bottom on their wedding night.
It's finally the big day, in one hour Kai and Rei will be married.
Kai is pacing, backwards and forwards, over and over again, and that's how Bruce, Hiro and Judy found him twenty minutes before the wedding was due to start. They just watched him pace for a few minutes, and then Bruce cleared his throat, snapping out of his trance like state, and forcing his attention on them. "It's okay to be nervous Kai, it's just cold feet, it happens to everybody". Bruce said, trying to comfort the teen. "Yeah", Kai agreed, "That's all".
They were both standing at the alter, the priest speaking to them, the wedding had started. Priest: "Do you Ray Kon take Kai Hiwatari, to be your lawful wedded husband, to have and to hold, in sickness and in health, till death do you part?"
Rei: "I do."
Priest: "And do you Kai Hiwatari take Rei Kon to be your lawful wedded husband, to have and to hold, in sickness and in health, till death do you part?"
Kai hesitates a second or two before saying a quiet, "I do".
Priest: "Now Kai and Rei have written their own vows. So Rei would you please like to say your first".
Rei nodded then turned to look at Kai.
Rei: "When we first started the team, you were so cut off. You didn't want anything to do with us, all you cared about was winning. But we kept trying to be your friend and then you started to open up to us, you let us in and we helped you. I am so glad you gave us the chance because without it, we wouldn't be here together now."
Priest: "Thank you Rei, now Kai, your vows".
Kai: "When I did open up, you didn't push me away, you were all still there. I want to thank you for that and Rei, our relationship balanced my life when it was spinning out of control, you always kept me calm, soothing my worries or pains."
Kai's voice drops, like he's only talking to himself and his eyes glaze over as he's lost in thought.
Kai: "You always made me laugh, even when I tried not to because I was mad at you, it was always us, we're complete opposites, yet we fit together so perfectly".
Priest: "I now pronounce you husband and husband, you may now kiss."
Rei stepped forward to do just that but Kai stepped back and then started to walk down the isle, everyone starring at him in shock. Kai was at the door when Rei finally spoke "Kai, what are you doing…?"
Kai turned and stated "I'm going to find my husband", and with that Kai threw the ring Rei had given him and walked out the door.
One day later
There was a knock on the door, Tala opened it to find Kai on the other side.
Kai: "I'm married".
Tala winced but Kai wasn't finished, "You still wear your ring don't you?".
He then lifted his left hand showing the ring Tala had given him a year ago, sitting perfectly on his finger. Tala just starred for a few seconds, trying to process the information he was being given, then a huge gin lit up his whole face and he pulled kai to him. He hugged the slightly shorted teen to him tightly, Kai sunk against him until he heard Tala singing softly, over and over again, "Mine, mine, mine".
Kai chuckled and pulled back slightly, and said "You better show me I'm yours", and with that he walked past Tala and into Tala's bedroom. It took Tala a good five seconds to realise what had just happened and what Kai was implying.
Lets just say Kai couldn't walk without limping for a week.
