One of her earliest memories was when she was in grade school. She loved the 4th grade and she liked her teacher, Mrs. Cooper. She was one of those teachers that everybody wanted to have.
She was on the playground with her friends Sarah Allen, Tammy Carlson, and Rachel Nixon. They were her best friends, they were her blood sisters. She knows, they took an oath to stick up for each other and to fight back anybody who messed with them.
Billy Turner was the class bully. He picked on everybody from the girls to the boys. He felt since he was a foot taller than everybody else he had the privilege to bully.
Lindsay had been talking to her friends when she felt Billy's breath near the nape of her neck. She whirled around and found herself face first at his chest.
"What do you want Billy?" Lindsay said, scared to death but trying to not show it.
"It's time for you to pay up". Billy said, sneering and looking her straight in the eye.
She would never let her friend know this but Billy had been taking her ice cream money. This time, Billy wasn't going to get the money.
"No!" Lindsay said, shouting at Billy.
"Monroe, you better give me the..." Billy said. Unfortunately he never got to finish the sentence.
Because he was on the ground, trying to recover from the swift groin kick that Lindsay inflicted on him.
That was the day that Lindsay stood up for herself. That was also the day when she would become independent and felt she needed no protection.
