"Hello."

The man shifted slightly. The cloaked figure had appeared out of nowhere.
"You're late."

"I was held up by an - incident, shall we say. Did it disrupt you?"

"No, but I must leave soon. There has been an uprising at Malhamptes-"

The cloaked figure interrupted him.
"We can speak of this later. I beg a small favor, as between ... associates."
His thin lips, shadowed by the hood of his cloak, smiled slightly,
sardonically.

The man appeared to sigh, drawing a harsh, shuddering breath. "What do
you want?"

"The 'professor,' shall i say, is ever closer to discovering this - connection.
My ways are too obvious, and too easily detected. I need something of yours."

The sharp intake of breath was obvious, even obscured by the respirator. Mentally,
the man cursed. It was just impossible to stay calm when he was around... something about
his eyes... like a cold mask concealing a colder interior. But then, he thought, he had been
told that it was the same with him, though more literally of course. "You will return it?"

"Of course. Within the hour."

The man pulled a clyindrical object from his belt and passed it to the other, where it
dissappeared within the folds of his cloak. "Goodbye," he said, and was gone.

"Lord Vader," said the liteunant, "we have calculated the jump to hyperspace."
"Good," said Vader. The liteunant bowed nervously and left. The strange being's visits
allways unnerved him. It wasn't the pale skin and bloodred eyes; many of the aliens were
much worse. It was the feeling, that here was somone that had once been human but that
had been changed, not necessarily for the better - like Lord Vader. Not that he would ever
say that to Lord Vader; he was not interested in demotion by derespiration.

McGonagall was the one who found Dumbledore. She had come up to ask him a question
about disciplining Malfoy, and found his office door ajar. He was lying on the floor with a
expression on his face. She assumed it had been the Avada Kedavra, but after an inspection
by Madame Pomfrey, the cause of death was uncertain. Pomfrey had found an almost miniscule cut
in his chest which appeared to continue through his heart and out his back. This would have
been explainable - possibly- but the fact that the wound had been cauterized, apparently
at the time of infliction, left them all at a loss.

Apparently he hadn't been able to deal with hyperspace, Vader mused. As his ship
entered realspace, Vader had been suprised to feel a weight on his belt. He investigated,
and noted with interest the return of the borrowed lightsaber.
