Why the Hesitation?

Mileena stood among the fields, hair flowing in the wind, staring at the purple Outworld sky, and then to the one who she had been following. Staring dreamily at him, she let out a wistful sigh, slouching her chin into her hand.

She'd never dawdled to pursue what she wanted before, and doing so with him proved to be difficult.

"Why the hesitation, Mileena?" she asked herself, growling lightly at this predicament. Her hands drifted to the hilts of her sais, and she clenched them tightly with frustration. What did she need in this situation? Patience. Something which she never has had, and never will have.

From afar, she admired the warrior who she was smitten for, wishing he could be hers.

Scorpion.

She stood in the field, admiring the Shirai Ryu with her glimmering yellow eyes. Everything about the ninja captivated the woman. She stared blissfully at his tan, robust, and well-built figure, laughing giddily at the sight of him.

"Together... we could CONQUER THE WORLD!" the maniacal, purple-clad warrior thought to herself gleefully. A huge, twisted smile formed across her face as she fantasized what things would be like if they were in fact together.

She recalled the memory of her first sight of him.

Scorpion stood in the throne room of Shao Kahn, an attentive expression on his face, as Quan Chi and Shao Kahn discussed how they were planning on merging the realms.

As the men rambled upon tedious matters, Mileena stood next to Shao Kahn, swaying side to side absent-mindedly, and focusing upon only one thing.

"Oh, so handsome," she thought to herself as she stared at the specter. After about half an hour of admiring him, she was interrupted from her reverie.

"Mileena... Mileena... MILEENA!" yelled the emperor of Outworld, clearly annoyed by his daughter's negligence.

"He's just as handsome as before," Mileena muttered to herself, recalling the day which had forever changed her life.

Before she could ponder for even a moment longer, she was disrupted by the disappearance of Scorpion's figure, leaving a mirror image of himself, then punching her back violently.

Before Mileena could hit the ground, her neck was eloped by Scorpion's arm, the headlock nearly suffocating her.

"What the Hell do you want, Mileena," spat the specter venomously. A crazed grin adorned Mileena's face underneath her veil.

"Oh my God, oh my God, oh my God! He's touching me! And he knows my name!" considered the childish warrior.

A sinister laugh escaped her lips before she could even think to stop it. Scorpion's eyes opened so widely, his eyelids almost tore apart, and then reverted back to slits.

"What are you laughing about?" he asked, clearly annoyed.

She dove down underneath his arm and rolled forward several feet, turning around to face the ninja.

Scorpion swung his kunai fiercely towards her chest, and she caught it within her hands just in time for the blade not to impale her.

"Get over here!" he yelled while pulling the rope toward him.

"Maybe I do have a chance," Mileena thought as she dropped the spear and leaned in closer.

"I. Like. You," she whispered seductively into his ear.

"At least I got that off of my shoulders," she muttered to herself while skipping happily away, avoiding a very pissed off Scorpion for hours afterward.
