I see a hallway with cream walls and brown oak doors, the golden handles glinting off the oak. I pass them all but the one door at the end, which is bathed in a pixelated golden light. The door swings open as I approach it and stepping forward, I see a forest.
Beautiful and captivating, I hear a bird call as I walk barefooted through the ivy laden tree. I see a pool of clean, clear and blue water. Bringing out a glass embossed with the name 'ISABELLA' on the side, I scoop some fluid out of this hole and tip into my mouth. It refreshes my tongue and suddenly, the pool disappears. Instead, there now stands a clearing containing the most enchanting place I could imagine.
The green grass grows straight, rather ironic next to my abundance of red wavy hair, barely touching my shoulders. A circle of brown oak trees, like the doors I saw, protect me from any harm. As I glide through, causing no disturbance to the grass or lilac wallflowers around me, I see purple mountains in the distance. The picturesque place whispers secrets and knowledge to me – my secrets and knowledge. Who could possibly own my personal heaven?
Mount Violet answers my question with a golden pixelated beam. It was the same golden pixelated light that I discovered in the hallway. It creeps towards me and I smile invitingly, welcoming the wonder. Before me, it stops and the pixels transform to reveal a bigger wonder. My wonder.
The eternal being in front of my eyes explains she, the third wife, is my Spirit Guide. Black hair flying with wind I cannot feel, round emerald eyes feeding on my expressions. Her delicate feet float inches from the ground while her hands gesture with her speech. I jump as she says my name; I ask to know hers. Mai. She tell me it is short for Maiple, the tree of which she was bred. Her pink mouth smiles kindly at my glum envious face, leading her to query gently about my troubles. It tumbles out of my mouth immediately. I inform her of my parents' separation, my self-observance of ugliness and my aspiration to be a beautiful vampire with the most important person in my life, with my red curls tumbling elegantly down the back of my slim physique.
Mai reveals that she believes my dreams can come true and my worries can be dispersed. She, as my very own Spirit Guide, will always be with me. Through the light and dark times, I can come her and she promises to comfort and advise me. Our smile now mirror each other's and I wave goodbye as the beauty turns back into the ray of light. We move backwards, further away from each other. The ray going home to the mountains an I to the edge of the clearing. Before turning away, I smile and raise a hand to blow a kiss to the Enchanted Circle, hoping I will visit again someday.
