Fawkes

Fear of another attack.

Yet reverence for an old man

Draws those from far and wide

To say their last goodbye.

Good-bye to a man whose faith never failed,

Whose understanding and wisdom managed to keep so many safe,

Who was loved and respected by so many,

And who will never be forgotten.

Never be forgotten by friends or family,

Or by those who only know of a legend,

By those who only harbour desire for power,

Or by one where no words were ever needed.

No words needed, for understanding was always there

Between the old man and his bird.

An unspoken bond that would not be broken

Because Fawkes would always remember.

Fawkes, with his magnificent red and gold plumage,

Remembers all that has been and fears whats to come.

But in this moment, takes time to mourn a great man

And expresses his sorrow through a loud piercing cry.

A loud cry that encapsulates the mourning many feel

And yet provides some speck of hope

For even though the old man is dead

The war can still be won.
