Confessions of a Hufflepuff Girl
Hi! I guess, I should be telling you who I am. I work for the Ministry of Magic and before that I was a Hufflepuff student at Hogwarts. I then married and now have a son. Most people don't think much of the Hufflepuffs but I'm proud to be from there. We are a lot more than most people think of us.
The Slytherins think we're pathetic(but they also think that even other Slytherins are pathetic.), the Gryffindors like us but its because they feel pity on us due to our weakness(who isn't compared to them?), and the Ravenclaws don't think we have even a speck of intelligence(again these people come from Ravenclaw)
We Hufflepuffs aren't that pathetic.
The Slytherins thought I was muggle-born but I'm a half-blood. We have just as many pure-bloods as they do, not that being a pure-blood matters.
The Gryffindors may feel some pity on us because we're weak but it was Hannah who asked Neville out and Hannah who proposed. Where's the pity in that? I think it was a lot more courageous than anything the other Gryffindor girls ever did.
Ernie was very smart. Compared to a Ravenclaw he could almost beat them. Being smart isn't the only thing in life. Friends are important as well.
I think Hufflepuff is like the perfect house. We have a little bit of everything and that's who gets into Hufflepuff. People who have something from each of the houses but not enough to get placed into one specific house. They wind up in Hufflepuff because we don't need a certain something.
The other houses are a lá carte, Hufflepuff is a buffet.
