It was a beautiful summer morning in Dillydale, and Little Miss Knots was out for a walk. Miss Knots was an orange, round Little Miss with extraordinarily long arms and legs, a green nose, red hair, blue and white sneakers, a headband with fox ears, blue overalls, and a fox tail. She was on her way to the Dillydale Theater. On her way, she met Little Miss Somersault, who was also on her way to the Dillydale Theater. When they passed Mr. Clever's house, Miss Knots stopped. She saw Mr. Clever outside working on a new invention. "Hello, Mr. Clever!" she said. "What's this?" "This is my new machine," replied Mr. Clever. "It's a transporter. It can move objects from one place to another in the blink of an eye! Watch." With that, he put a banana in the machine. The machine zapped it out of sight. "Where did it go?' asked Miss Knots. "Just where you'd think it would be," replied Mr. Clever.

Meanwhile, on the other side of town, the banana appeared in Mr. Scatterbrain's hand. Mr. Scatterbrain ate the banana, and then threw the peel on the sidewalk. Mr. Bump slipped on it soon after.

"Oops!" said Miss Knots. "I'm late for practice! Do you think your machine could zap me over to the Dillydale Theater?" "Sure," said Mr. Clever. Just get inside."

What do you think will happen to Miss Knots? You'll find out in the next chapter.
