"You know, there's a reason that the blue sky turns gray."
Katara looked over at her crazy boyfriend's random comment. The two were enjoying a picnic, sitting on a blanket in the shade of a tree on a hill just outside the inner wall of Ba Sing Se. Why bring up rain? The sky was as clear as it could be, the sun shining down peacefully on them.
"Oh yah? And what would that be?"
Aang's signature goofy grin was plastered across his face, eyes smiling.
"Because the sky's sad."
This was beginning to get odder and odder, but she played along anyways.
"And why is the sky so sad?"
"Usually because I am."
"And why would you be so sad?"
"Because I'm away from you."
Katara blushed at his sweet remark. She looked up at the pure blue sky, and an idea popped into her head. She pointed over Aang's shoulder.
"Hey, look over there!"
As he turned his head to see, she jumped up and took off running down the hill.
"Hey!"
He tried to keep up but she was too fast, even for the airbender, having too much of a head start. Her laughter rang through the field of lilies that they had now entered. Katara turned to see Aang lagging quite far behind, and decided to put her experiment into action. She dove head-first into the lilies, whose blossoms were just large enough and high enough off the ground to conceal her from view. When Aang approached, she struggles to contain her giggles. After nearly an hour of his searching, sure enough, his head dropped and storm clouds began to roll in across the horizon. Feeling guilty and somehow giddy, Katara popped herself out of her hiding place amongst the flowers and rushed into his arms. He, in return, embraced her in a passionate kiss. Around them, the clouds parted and the sun shown down brighter than before. Nature returned to it's place as the two pried themselves apart for air, gazing into each other's eyes.
"So, what's the reason that the sky turns gray again?"
"Because, I'm apart from you."
