Link X Navi Chapter 1: Gone
Link had just arrived back and had put the master sword back in its proper place. Zelda had sent him back in time via The Ocarina Of Time. Link had no idea what was about to happen.
As Link took in the familiar marble walls and the stained glass windows, he had a feeling of dread. Something was going to happen, and by all means, he was right. "Link..." Navi was on the verge of tears. She had loved Link from the start, and now the Deku Tree had ordered her to go away from Link, because if Ganon had never shown up, then Navi wouldn't have even met Link. "Navi, what is it?" he asked. "It's just...I..can't stay here..." she choked. "What do you mean you can't stay here?" Link cried. "The Deku Tree ordered me to leave...I'm sorry Link...I'll miss you..." Navi then rose up and flew through the window, crying as she never had before. "Wait! Navi, please! What did I do?" he yelled. "She'll be back..." he thought.
As time wore on, Navi didn't come back, and Link searched the whole of Hyrule. Finally, he decided to look deeper in the forest than anyone had dared adventure. He said goodbye to all his friends, especially Zelda, Malon, Saria, and Ruto. Then he took Epona and ventured out. He crossed the secret barrier from Hyrule to Termina, defeated Majora's Mask, and came back to Hyrule with no such luck of finding Navi. Meanwhile, he had grown a few feet taller and was now a full fledged twelve year old. He had been nine when he looked for Navi but was now twelve. While Link was gone, the Kokiri had realized they could go anywhere they wanted now that Ganon was gone, and they aged normally. However, Link had given up all hope of finding Navi, and even though he had his friends to comfort him, he wasn't exactly satisfied.
Saria, Ruto, Zelda, and Malon had all noticed Link was looking glum, and they all tried to cheer him up, but to no avail. Link still enjoyed their company nonetheless, but he never forgot about Navi. From that point on, he kept a secret journal that only he knew where it was. He wrote about his feelings for Navi and everyone else, and how much he missed Navi.
However, the one thing Link did not know, was that he would see his friend again. Even, if it wasn't in good circumstances.
