Which was why no one who knew the several times widowed Ava could understand why she would be in relationship with the grumpy Auror.
Nor could those who knew Alastor understand why he would be in a relationship with a woman who held a celebration party every time one of her husbands died.
It left a lot of people scratching their heads, but no one knew was that Alastor accepted Ava for who she was and she him.
