Destroy, She Said

Deities may be superior to humans, but the Halls of Time, a domain built by the gods, will crumble. Why, you ask? Because the freezing cold would entrap time, every crevice of the melody sinking into their thoughts and feelings. If they even have human emotion, that is. Taunting them and mocking them of their cursed fates, the corridors seemed endless, as they journeyed through the marble halls, the painting looming over them.

"Fire and Time are two powerful mechanisms in this world, Mars, and we shouldn't tarnish their names by using these powers recklessly." Setsuna replied, deep concentration held in her voice. She had the staff tight in her hands, loosening them periodically as she focused her attention at the Door before them.

Rei, on the other hand, was in deep awe. Right there, before her, was the fabled Door of Time, a portal to all dimensions in all the Solar System and the great beyond. She thought it was just a myth, but she couldn't believe her eyes even now. "I…I…wouldn't even dream of that, Pluto. But why would you think that? We're right here, aren't we?"

"Most senshi before you have used and seen what power could do to them, either in great fulfillment or terrible consequences. I should know, and you have excellent self-control, Mars. However, I have seen you in battle. The fire in your eyes is dangerous. Deadly, even."

Rei turned to face Setsuna. "You've seen me? Through this door?"

Setsuna then focused her attention on the bewildered senshi. "Correct, Mars. This Door can see all, with the Space and Time dimensions coalescing into a single realm, one who controls Time can see what occurs outside these halls."

"So…that would mean….you control Time, just like I control fire in the dimensions I choose?"

"Exactly, Mars. The senshi can choose whatever dimension we control based on our power, but only if I allow it. Recklessness with the ten dimensions can do only one thing to this world, inside and out. After all, works of good and evil are intertwined in great gifts."

"What's that?"

"Destroy," She said.
