"I love you." Naruto whispered in her ear, his breath fanning her skin.

"Yeah?" He hesitated for a second then pulled away from their embrace. She wanted to ask what was wrong but that was pointless. The two of them were alone, dangling their feet off the head of the fifth hokage. The village below them looked so peaceful. She sighed.

"Sakura?" She looked back to his face, blue eyes filled with concern and she smiled the best she could, a hope to fool Naruto.

"I'm fine. You hungry?" His frown disappeared and smiled back. Of course he was….even if they had eaten only an hour earlier….. It always relieved her when he would say those words, she needn't feel so lonely when she was with Naruto, but why did she right now? She didn't know, the question had been popping into her thoughts unwelcome for the past few weeks. They had been together for six months now, but she just wasn't ready to return his love. He would wait, Naruto had said before…..he would…

"Ichiruka's?" She was so lost in thought that she just barley understood what he had meant. Something about food right? Yes, that's what. .

"Race you." With that said they pushed off from the stone to shred the village ground. Both forms just blurs of motion. She looked to her side and saw Naruto grinning brightly at her.

"You're too slow Sakura-Chan!" Naruto yelled out, making her blood boil.

"What did you say Naruto?!" His grin widened further causing her to stop during full throttle. Sakura looked up and saw Naruto hanging from the ramen shop's sign. Damn….

"Get down." He looked down on her, amused by her annoyed expression. Annoyed because of his amused face. Naruto jumped to land right next to her.

"Heh. I win. You lose." She smiled to herself as she turned away. He was such a child, she thought. Naruto ate as he always did, emptying her pocket money. The owner staring at him with appraisal the entire time. Naruto walked her home, but she told him she wanted some time alone for the night….

He had looked so far away, she thought as she lay on her roof, staring down the stars. Was he supposed to look like that to her? Another question that will predictably haunt her. She wasn't that same Sakura Haruno she was ten years ago. Sakura was a strong fighter, one of Konoha's best. Confidence in herself, she was able to put aside her past. She shook her head, trying to clear her thoughts and closed her eyes, leaning her back against the cold hard stone.

She didn't want to think about Sasuke and his ways. He had been her main focus of missions for years but now it was very different. He had made it quite clear that he could never be the friend they had once known, but now a target of threat...Sakura sighed and opened her eyes slowly. She took in one more glance around before climbing back into her bedroom to fall into a sleep. Her dreams tainted.

AN: Sorry if it's horrible, I wrote it during a really long lecture in class and couldn't care less if it had meaning or not. I know it's short but it's kinda interesting right? heh heh. But hey, don't forget to Review!
