Forgetfulness
(Flashback three years ago)
Twilight and Dash are sitting in Sugar Cube Corner, wondering what's taking Pinkie so long to get their order.
"This isn't like Pinkie, not to get our order." exclaims Twilight,
"I know." exclaims Dash. As they wait, Pinkie walks over,
"Hiya! Twilight, hiya! Dash."
"Pinkie, did you forget our order?" asked Twilight. Pinkie looks puzzled and facehoof,
"Oh yeah, sorry I'm such a silly filly forgetting your order." Pinkie gets their order and apologizes for taking so long to get it.
"It's ok Pinkie." exclaims Twilight. Pinkie walks to the back and starts to cry,
"Why I'm so forgetful?"
(Flashback one and half years ago)
All of Pinkie Pie's friends were waiting for her to come out of the doctors office.
"Miss Pie, do you remember the three things i asked you to tell me?" Pinkie struggles to remember,
"I think it was pen, pencil, and moon;" Pinkie looks at the doctor as tears well up in her eyes.
"No miss Pie it was paper, rock, and scissors." the doctor replied.
"Oh yeah, I remember now doctor, thanks for reminding me." replies Pinkie
"Miss Pie, have you had anything else happen to you recently?" asked the doctor
"Well, doctor I have been mean to all my friends, sometimes I forget their names, and I forget how to make cupcakes, but i just thought it was because I was getting older." replies Pinkie
"No, Miss Pie you have a disease called Dementia and it hits mares when they get older and your memory will only get worse from here on out." stated the doctor.
"Ok thank you doctor," Pinkie walks out of the doctor's office and passes all of her friends.
"Hey Pinkie!," yells twilight, but Pinkie kept on walking. As the doctor walks out Twilight and her friends asked the doctor,
"What is wrong with Pinke?"
"Well, Miss Sparkle, you friend has Dementia, it's a disease that makes you forget and eventually causes death." replies the doctor.
OH MY CELESTIA! Gasped her friends.
"Is there anything we can do?" asked Twilight.
"No, I'm afraid not, it's very debilitating, she will eventually forget who she is, won't remember any of you or your names." states the doctor. As the doctor leaves they began to cry.
(Flashback present day)
As the years went by, everypony has come and gone. Twilight and Spike left after they got married, Rarity opened a new fashion shop in Canterlot after she married Fancypants, Fluttershy moved to Sweet Apple Acres to be with Big Mac, Applejack and her marefriend Rainbow Dash left when Dash was accepted into the Wonderbolts, and the Cutie Mark Crusaders all left for college. A closed sign is in the window of Sugar Cube Corner, we see a lone pink mare, her mane grayed with age, standing looking confused wondering where she is, as a very debilitating disease has taking her ability to remember. Pinkie sighs,
"Where is home?"
A/N: I know some of the oneshots i have written have been funny, but i wanted to write one that was dear to my heart. I don't know how many of you have experienced your loved ones being forgetful, not remembering you, their family, where they live or even their names.
I had four very special persons in my life, my granny, my uncle, my momma, and most recently my dad. They had a very debilitating disease known as Dementia; it takes the ones you love and turns them into someone that is different from themselves.
A/N: If you see signs of forgetfulness, them not remembering where they out things, wandering off or just standing in the yard with a blank stare. Please! I urge you to take them to the doctor, if it's caught in time it can be slowed down. Please review and God bless.
