The Mysterious Stranger watched as the Raiders surrounded Dogmeat. There was little he could do, considering the fact that he was trapped under a car that just exploded and landed on his leg. He wasn't injured, he was just trapped. The dog didn't seem to be doing all that bad. Dogmeat had already taken out two Raiders, but there was still four remaining.

Then, when things didn't seem they could get worse, a wanderer walked up and saw the fight between Dogmeat and the Raiders. The Mysterious Stranger thought that the wanderer would kill both the Raiders and Dogmeat. But, luckily, the wanderer killed the raiders with a hunting riffle. He then turned on Dogmeat, but his weapon was down and he seemed to like Dogmeat. The wanderer then said, "What's wrong, boy? Loose your owner?" Dogmeat surprisingly barked in response, and licked the wanderer's hand.

As the two walked away, the Mysterious Stranger hollered out for help. Luckily, the wanderer heard the cry, and came over to help. "Here, let me help you." The wanderer obviously wasn't stupid because he had his side arm pointed at The Mysterious Stranger's head. The Mysterious Stranger didn't plan on hearting the wanderer, but anyone else would have. "Is this your dog?"

"Yeah," replied The Mysterious Stranger. "His name is Dogmeat. Who are you and what's your name?" The wanderer still didn't trust The Mysterious Stanger, but he did say, "My name is not important. What is important is have you seen my father? He's a middle aged man who was most likely wore a lab coat. Have you seen him?"

It then hit The Mysterious Stranger that this boy is the one who was supposed to get the audio tape. That the man who walked out of the Vault was his father! The Mysterious Stranger replied, "Actually, I have seen him. But I won't give up the info without my dog." The wanderer shooed Dogmeat away, but the dog whined and stayed by the wanderer's side. "Well, it looks like Dogmeat won't leave me, so- could you give me the info or not?"

The Mysterious Stranger thought about it, then said, "Sure, just promise me that you will take good care of my dog." The wanderer thought about it, "Sure, I will. But, you know... you could come along. You won't have to leave your dog that way. What do you say?" The boy had charisma, he would give him that much. "Sure, why not." The Mysterious Stranger held out his hand and the Lone Wanderer shook it.
