May looked at her note and sighed. She looked over at Pikachu, who was sleeping peacefully next to Ash. May crumbled the paper and threw it away. 'Why did this have to happen…?' she thought as she silently cried herself to sleep.

The next day, while everyone was eating breakfast, May accidentally dropped her fork. When she bent to pick it up, a small furry hand put it in her open palm. May blushed slightly when she saw it was Pikachu.

May gave Pikachu a quick kiss on the forehead and whispered, "Thank you…" Pikachu bowed and ran off to eat with the other Pokemon. When May got back from under the table, she noticed that everyone was looking at her.

Throughout the day, Pikachu 'strangely' paid his full attention to May. He helped her when she injured herself from falling and even cheered her during a battle against a wild Bayleef. May sometimes gave Pikachu a 'thank you' kiss for all his hard work, but May wished she could give him a true kiss.

That evening, Pikachu was missing. "GUYS! YOU GOT TO HELP ME FIND HIM!" Ash cried. While Ash and Brock searched in the forest, May found a small pond in the middle of the woods. Pikachu was sitting in front of the pond, drawing something in the dirt. "Pikachu?" May tapped Pikachu on the shoulder, and the little mouse pokemon spun around and hugged her. "C'mon, Pikachu! Ash is…worried…about you…" May noticed what Pikachu was drawing in the dirt before. It was a picture of him and May holding hands.

May pulled Pikachu in and whispered, "I love you, Pikachu…" Pikachu smiled and they slipped into a night of bliss…
