When I was a Freshman in my highschool, I got hooked onto a book that I loved- even to this day I look back fondly on it. The Goblin Wood (by: Hillary Bell), I still love it even though I haven't touched it for a few years. I made this little snippet of a one-shot for a project in my freshman year, also another one-shot story Tobin's Journal. I forgot I even made this piece until I found it yesterday. I hope readers will enjoy this, and I encourage others to read this book too.
Jeriah stood at the edge of the Goblin Wall in a trance. Tobin never came back; he broke his promise. Jeriah knew in a way that he would leave. What happened in Master Lazur's tent was a good sign that he would go and never return. Master Lazur was furious and he showed it the moment he got to the Wall, just to find it empty. That girl and the Goblins were gone and Tobin with them.
Betrayal was still heavy in his heart, but he couldn't hold it against Tobin. In fact, he did the same thing to him, lying to him, playing him as a fool. He was just doing what he knew what was right, just as Jeriah did. He made a decision against the Hierarchy.
But he will continue to do so as he did before. Find a group and try to change the government again. Jeriah would also have to tell mother, father, and his three sisters why Tobin was gone. He would tell them he did what he thought was right, and the he loved them all very much.
As the sun came up, Jeriah made a decision. For now, he would say goodbye to his brother, the one who had saved him, the one who loved them all.
A new morning of a new life. Goodbye, Tobin...
