As a girl
They had expected a number of things when they found Roy. He would be fourteen or twenty-three, he'd be upset or in shock, or angry, he'd have two arms.
He had one arm, and he wasn't a he.
Okay.
The tall red head marched over to them and glared.
"You're the clone?"
"Y-yes?"
She punched him in the face.
"That's for the last five years." She turned to Green Arrow "Mr. Queen?"
"Yeah?"
She kicked him in the stomach then punched him.
"That's for being an idiot."
She stared at them both.
"We need to talk."
As a hero
"So you're a clone?"
"Yeah."
Arsenal operated inside of Steel city. He was also an archer, but unlike the others he used a variety of weapons against his villains, thus the name. He kept to himself mostly; outside of Batman and Red Arrow maybe three others knew he existed. He liked it that way.
"Are you okay?"
He also sucked at feelings. He was warmer than Roy, more likely to quip and throw an arm over your shoulder after a fight, but he sucked when it came to comforting people.
"Stupid question. You know where he is?"
"Not at Cadmus. We don't know where they took him."
"Sucks."
They were on a rooftop in Steel City, because no one ever came to Steel City. The night was quite, no villains out tonight. It was always quite; sometimes he wondered why Arsenal even operated here.
"I have a clone."
And suddenly he was looking at a paler version of himself.
"The minute I stop freaking out I'm going to punch you in the face."
"I'm okay with that."
With Impulse
"You haven't found him yet? Seriously? But it's so easy!"
"Impulse maybe you shouldn't-"
"He's in Tibet in a tube in a temple in the south and he only has one arm so he might freak out, but he'll get over it and you should bring some clothes cause I remember he woke up naked and-"
"Impulse! Roy don't…."
"And he's gone. Thank you Impulse."
"Don't worry, it's gonna be crash!"
As a villain
"Sup clone boy."
"What?"
"Clone boy. You're my clone, I call you clone boy, it's a nickname!"
His mirror image had a smile rivaling the joker's plastered on his face and a gun pointed at his head. He was calmer than he should have been.
"Really sorry about this, but your little search is costing the boss money he doesn't have."
They found him on the steps of the Hall of Justice with a bullet in his head and a note pinned to his shirt.
'I was never your sidekick.'
The other way around
It was eleven pm on a Thursday and he was on a Gotham rooftop. Somehow a redheaded kid in a leather jacket found him.
"Hi, you're Red Arrow right?"
"Yeah."
"This is going to sound crazy, but I think you might be my clone."
"…And you're Roy Harper?"
"Yeah, I woke up a few weeks ago. I figured I should find you."
"Lets get some coffee. We need to talk."
How they actually found him
It was three in the morning, freezing cold outside, and they had just knocked out at least three hundred bad guys to get here.
The guy had one arm and looked like a skinnier version of himself. Even inside the tube he was beautiful.
Roy broke the glass, let the water spill to the floor as he caught the kid. Behind him Lian laughed.
"Dada!"
