Summary: Jack is working on a project for school

"Hey buddy, whatcha working on?" Hotch asked his son one Sunday afternoon.
"A project for school." The small Hotchner responded without looking at his father.
"Oh really? You need any help?"
"No thank you, daddy" Hotch smiled at his son, ruffled his hair, and walked into the living room. Reid was asleep on the couch. His glasses were askew on his face and there were books scattered on the floor around the couch. One book lay open on his stomach. Hotch smiled at the sight and grabbed a blanket from the closest and placed it on his lover. Reid snuggled into the sudden warmth. Hotch got himself comfortable behind Reid's legs and turned on the tv.
A few days later Hotch and Reid walked into their home after a slow day at work. They were immediately greeted by Jack.
"Hey buddy." Hotch picked up Jack and Reid ruffled his hair.
"I gots an A on my project!" Jack exclaimed.
"What project?" Reid asked.
"I'll show you!" Jack wiggled until Hotch let him down. Jack ran into the dining room and returned moments later with a giant poster board. "We had to do a project on family. We had to name different members of our family and say why they're important to us." Hotch and Reid both looked at the poster board. It showed the whole team and Jack's Aunt Jessica.
"Well, why don't you explain it to us?" Reid asked with a smile. Jack nodded excitedly.
"Well, there's you two, of course. I said I had two dad's that love me very much. Then there's Aunt Jess, Aunt Penny, Aunt Emmy, Aunt Jenny, Uncle Dave and Uncle Derek. When my teacher asked me why you all were important I told her there wasn't enough time to go through the list!" Jack exclaimed. Hotch and Reid smiled at Jack. They truly did love him very much. "I told everyone that you all chase the bad guys to keep everyone safe. Then Bobby Monroe said it was gross to have two dad's but I told him that it just meant that I was more special than him. Then Suzie Sommers told him that she had two moms. That made him shut up because Bobby likes Suzie."
"I'm proud of you, you know that?" Reid said, kneeling down to Jack's level. And gave him a big hug. Hotch knelt down and joined their hug. Jack was right, having two dads that loved him so much did make him special and he loved his family so much. He knew they fought the bad guys to protect him. That was their way of telling him they love him back.
