"Please don't tell anyone that I carry a stuffed animal around with me and even talk to it"
Drabble based off of a prompt I read on tumblr.
Here's to hoping that 2k15 is a kick-ass year!
Let 2k14 burn in Hell...
She's seen a lot of weird things on the subway but this time, Lucy was surprised to find herself sitting beside a boy close to her own age.
It's not like she's never found herself in this position before, but this time was different. Perhaps it was because he had fluorescent pink hair, or maybe it was the fact that he was talking to himself.
"Yes, Happy. I took some before I left the house."
She shot him a strange look out of the corner of her eye. He must be smoking something really strong to be in such a state. Looking out her window she realized she only has twenty minutes until her stop. Great.
His babbling didn't bother her at first until finally, she had had enough. Lucy poked his shoulder.
He turned towards her as if he had only just noticed the beautiful blonde sitting beside him. "What is it?
"Who were you talking to just now?"
His eyes widened for a split second before returning to normal. "Why do you care?"
Okay, now she was annoyed. "Who's Happy?"
She saw him look down and it was then that she noticed something small and blue poking out of the bag in his lap. He realized his mistake too late.
Like a tiger, she pounced. Before he could stop her hand, Lucy pulled the object out of his bag to reveal a small blue stuffed cat.
"You're kidding, right?" Lucy laughed as she studied the adorable furry thing in her hands.
He ripped it away from her and had it back into his clutches. "What he hell is wrong with you!? You don't go around grabbing things that don't belong to you."
He sounded a lot like a child. "Sorry, it's just," Lucy giggled, "you don't see someone talking to a stuffie everyday."
He scratched his head nervously. "Yeah, I'd appreciate if you didn't tell anyone about that. Its not 'normal' right?"
She knew that there was more of a story behind his words but she let it g. He looked like he already had enough on his mind.
Lucy smiled at him and it looked like she was going to say something else when a voice rang over the speakers of the subway. "Next stop, Shoreline Station."
She sighed. "Well, this is my stop."
His face fell. "Oh, okay."
She grabbed her things and pushed past the boy with the pink hair beside her in order to get to the doors. For some reason, she was rather upset to have to leave him so soon.
Lucy stepped off the train and proceeded to walk back to her apartment when she heard something odd behind her.
"Wait! Can you just stop, for the love of Mavis!"
She turned around and found none other than the boy on the train running towards her, his hair pushed back by the wind.
Now that she had a good look at time, he didn't seem as scrawny as she had originally thought. In fact, he seemed to be pretty well built.
Of course she tried to conceal her gawking but something about the smirk on his face told her she wasn't doing a very good job.
"What are you doing? Do you live around here?"
"No, but I had to ask you something."
For some reason, her heart beat raced as she noticed how intensely he was staring into her eyes. She had read about strangers asking beautiful girls on a date before but she never thought she was that special.
He opened his mouth and she waited in anticipation for his question. But what came next was not what she had expected.
"What's your name?"
Her eyes lowered with a sigh before smiling at him.
"Lucy. But you know, it's rude to ask someone their name and not give your own."
"Oh, the name's Natsu. Natsu Dragneel."
