Ronald Weasly walked past Hagrid's Hut back to the Gryfindor common room to talk to Harry. Each and every time he had seen, or at least heard of "Looney" Luna Lovegood, he had this gut feeling that Luna was the girl of his dreams.
"Hey, Ron!"
Ron turned back, to see it was Hermione, standing outside the doorway of Hagrid's hut. "What is it?" he called back. "I have important things to attend to!"
"Like what?" Hermione asked in her british voice. "Just come here! Please..." Ron was angered that there was a distraction in the way of something important. He ran down to Hermione.
"What the bloody hell is it?" Ron asked. "It's loon- er, Luna. She knows that I could keep a secret, but I just had to tell. She-"
"Wait. What are you doing outside Hagrid's place?" Hermione shook him by the shoulders. "Do you want to know? Or not?"
"Fine," Ron mumbled."Well... Luna is in love with you!" Ron's heart skipped a beat. "Love..." Ron said quietly. "Love!" Ron shouted. He smiled for a brief moment, just to have his smile cut short of the sound of bare feet against grass. A short, blonde girl with her wand tucked behind her ear walked towards them with a bucket.
"Oh, hello, Ron, Hermione." Luna Lovegood said in her mysterious voice. "I'm here to drop off slug repellent to Hagrid's. Whatever are you too doing here?"
"Uh-"Ron said. "We are just here, to..." Hermione stalled, wasting time. Ron bit his upper lip and said:
"Luna Lovegood, I'm in love with you!"
Ron said it so loud, he caught a glimpse of Harry looking through a window.
Luna smiled. "I bet you don't know this, but-" "I know, I know. That you love me back."
"Yes," Luna whispered. "And-"
Luna was cut short of talking when she saw the unthinkable.
Voldemort.
He was behind Ron, and he didn't notice it until Hermione screamed. Quickly, with his eyes still on Luna, Ron said "Stupify" behind him, sending Voldemort back into the forest.
"Not now, Voldemort," Ron said. "Come back later." Hermione was handed the bucket of slug repellent from Luna, giving it the hint she was to give it to Hagrid. Ron held hands with Luna, walking back to Hogwarts.
