Quick one-shot… thought I'd give it a try….. it's based on the elevator scene featured in the upcoming promo ad for the eppy "Begin the Begin"

Here's where it begins

"I'm over you"

"I'm over you too"

"you are"

laughing "No!"

"What do you mean no Derek?"

" I mean no"

"What does NO mean to you?"

"No means…. No means…. No" Derek looked at Meredith with those puppy eyes…. Those sweet puppy eyes that made her have the one-nighter in the first place. He looked sad.

"what makes you say no now…. You just decide to love me again?" Meredith's face was streaming with tears. She was happy that he wasn't over her, but she was trying to get over him.

"who said love?"

Now the tears were steadily flowing. She thought he meant love when he said he wasn't over her. She was wrong. She was always wrong!

"Meredith, now stop, please…" Now his voice was soft. "That was meant to be a joke. I do love you… but I guess I shouldn't have made a joke, huh?"

Meredith slowly nodded her head. "Bad timing, as usual."

"What does THAT mean?"

"you know the wrong time to tell things to people. JUST as I am almost over you, you mess with my head. Back to square 1!"

"I told Addison I fell in love with you…"

"see what I mean? WHY would you tell your wife. You want things to work… well that won't help…"

Meredith still had tears down her face, and Derek reached over to wipe them away. "NO DEREK! STOP! PLEASE!" She slapped him away as more tears welled in her eyes.

"Meredith, please, let me… PLEASE!" She reluctantly let him wipe away the tears that stained her blushy cheeks. The mascara she had on that was supposedly water-proof was mixed in with her tears, creating a gray shade that fell down her face (A/N GRAY! GREY! I crack myself up ;-) )

"Mer… I-I can't live without you. Not anymore. I'm done trying. I can't and I won't and I just-"

"Derek….. shut up!"

Derek looked confused, but then, just as he caught a glimpse of her joking face, He was close to Meredith's face, after she pulled his shirt collar towards him. They both went halfway and met at their lips….. It was more than words could ever express…
