The Professor's Daughter
Written By: Marik's Girl

Prologue

My name is Sakura Kinomoto; I'm Fujitaka Kinomoto's daughter, a professor at the high-school in Japan near Tokyo. I'm studying to follow in my father's footsteps and become a school teacher. I have an elder brother named Toya who married Ruby, his high-school sweetheart. My mother died when I was very young and I don't remember her very well. In a few months I would be turning seventeen… during that time I found out that my father arranged an marriage for me, but of course he didn't want to force me into it. He told me by my eighteenth birthday I could say if I wanted to marry him or not, he wanted me to at least get to know my Fiancée. Even so, I did not want to marry him… because someone else had stolen my heart; but of course I didn't know it at the time.

As I became more familiar with Neji Hyuga, the more I fell in love with him, the more I was at a lost of what to do… maybe I should start at the beginning? It started when I was at home, one late afternoon…

"Marriage?" Sakura Kinomto stared at her father with wide emerald-green eyes that held shock in them. She sat across from her father, Fujitaka Kinomoto who adjusted his glasses as he looked at his daughter. "I have arranged a marriage for you but…" he said slowly. "But what?" she asked, feeling quite uneasy. "You have a choice if you want to marry him or not…"

"Then I refuse to marry him. I don't even know this person that you want me to marry!" she said as she slowly became upset. He looked at her sadden eyes and then let out a sigh. "Sakura… all I want you to do is get to know the boy. If you still feel the same way, you don't have to marry him; that is all I ask." He said softly as he looked at his lovely daughter. After hearing that, she began to calm down and silence filled the living room. She let out a sigh and then looked back at her father. "I… I will meet with him. How long do I have until I have to make the choice?"

"When you turn eighteen."

"Alright then, if I feel the same way by my eighteenth birthday; I won't marry him." She said and Fujitaka nodded his head in agreement. "Agreed." He said with a smile. "When do I meet him?" Sakura asked.

"A week from now."

{Tokyo, Japan}

A young man of seventeen and a half narrowed his pearly white eyes. He hated parties. A young woman giggled as she clenched to his arm and acted like an airhead. Inside, he sighed deeply and was quite annoyed; but on the outside, he showed no emotion what so ever; a look that would scare off any man that came near him and if they did… they were either stupid or an idiot. But Neji Hyuga did have a problem with the ladies so to speak. He would glare, call them names and such, but they didn't seem to get the idea to just go away and leave him alone! He would go on lots of dates… because his uncle wanted him to find a girl and marry her. But what was the point? It wasn't like he was going to actually fall in love with some bimbo. As far as he was concern, there were no women that were right for him - since they were all airheads and only wanted him for his money… of course, not all girls were liked that… it was quite rare to find a girl that wasn't an airhead or giggled like a freak. He could even name them on his hand.

The first one was Hinata Hyuga, his shy and timid cousin. She wouldn't think of herself that well and would shudder most of the time; and even though they had money, she never really cared about it and she didn't want to marry a man that only wanted her for her money.

The second one was Ten-ten, a girl that he had known almost all his life. She was strong and would speak her mind on almost anything and would never back down from a fight; she is very strong willed.

The third and final girl that he knew was Sakura Haruno, a girl that he had known since he was ten and she was nine. He liked her because she could scare a man and have him running super-fast away from her. But even so, she was a hard worker and she has been studying to become a doctor and she was very kind at heart but at the same time very strong willed. But girls were really not on his mind right now…. all that he would think about was what his uncle had told him the day before…

{Flash Back}

"Neji, I need to speak to you about something." Said Hiashi Hyuga; Neji stood in front of his uncle, bowing beforehand before looking up at his uncle stern look. "Yes uncle?" Neji asked with no emotion - as always. "You must find yourself a wife." Hiashi said flatly and getting straight to the point. Neji's normally calm looking pearly-white eyes widen in shock. "What!?" he blurted out. "You have a year and a half to find a girl and marry her by your nineteenth birthday. If not…" Hiashi trailed off as he put his hands behind his back and turned away from Neji. "I cannot make you my heir and you will not take over the family business."

{End Flash Back}

Neji frowned and muttered something under his breath… so he had to find some girl, fall in love with her, and marry her and all in a year and a half… his life sucked!
