It would not be easy for her. That much he knew now. They were going to hive her the worst news of her life, and then ask her to leave everything she'd ever known to come with them. That would break just about anybody, even one as strong as she was.

Elladan and Elrohir approached the mall house, their faces bore grim expressions. When she opened the door to admit them, she took one look at their faces, turned with a short sharp cry, and ran to her young son. Little Aragorn played on the floor, unaware that his mother had just received the hardest news any ranger's wife could hear. He seemed to realize something was wrong though, when she picked him up, and cradled him, rocking back and forth, pleading to no one. "Let this not be happening!" Over and over again.

Eventually, she cried herself dry, and stood to look at the twin sons of Elrond standing in her home. One of them, she had not the mindset to tell which, stepped forward and began to speak. "My lady," he began, his soft, yet strong voice commanding the room's attention, yet infused with sorrow and empathy, "My lady, our father requests that you return to Rivendell with us."

The request hit her like a blow, and she could only stare at the elf in disbelief. The other stepped forward, and in a voice so alike to his twin continued "We fear for both the safety of you, and your child. Aragorn needs to be protected."

"His people can protect him!" She stated firmly, finally able to speak. But in her heart, she knew that Master Elrond was making a reasonable request. It must have shown on her face, for the brother who had first spoken turned and left the house.

"He will be safer with us, Gilraen. Both of you will. You know this. He can learn much, and grow up happy. Let your son have a happy and peaceful childhood. Before he grows into his heritage. Let him be a child." The remaining Pheredil intoned softly.

She nodded slowly and looked around. Her son looked up at here, big eyes curious, counfused, innocent. Let them stay that way for a while longer. She stood, gathered him in her arms, and followed the elf outside.
