First Airplane Ride
Dewey's pov
"I can't believe that he left us!" Louie whimpered.
"For sure! Uncle Donald would never do that! We have to get off this plane!" Huey exclaimed from the row in front of us.
The airplane rows are in twos so Louie and I were sitting in one row and Huey and what was supposed to be Uncle Donald were sitting in the row in front.
"I'm scared! We've never gone anywhere without him! We've never even been on an airplane before!" Louie gasped.
I had to calm my little brother down.
"Hey, it's ok. We'll make it through this and when the plane ride is over, I'm sure that Uncle Donald will come through for us." I assured him.
Louie nodded and looked out the window.
"Uh...why are we moving? Not all the passengers are here yet! Do you hear me?!" Huey shouted.
"Wait! Our Uncle Donald isn't here yet!" Louie yelled.
We all started screaming to try and get the pilot to stop and wait.
The front of the plane started to lift into the air and Louie started to scream and cry.
"Hold his hand or something! Do something to make it stop!" Huey demanded.
I took hold of Louie's hand and he death gripped mine.
Soon, Louie relaxed a bit and Huey and I blushed in embarrassment from the scene.
"Please remember that Louie is powered by affection next time." Huey sighed.
"Excuse me, flight attendant. These kids are being horrible nuisances to my relaxing plane ride." A ride person behind us complained.
I dramatically gasped while putting a hand to my heart for extra effect.
"They are just kids. We have barley taken off yet. Please let me have a word with them." The flight attendant apologized.
"Alright, kiddos. We're gonna need you to shut up and stay still or extra force will be used." The flight attendant growled.
Louie obviously bursted out into tears.
"Well now the kids are crying. Thanks a lot for ruining this flight! You get a bad review!" The rude guy huffed.
"You just scored us a bad review, punk! It's this one." The flight attendant lifted Louie up out of his seat by his hood.
"No! Please! Put me down!" Louie begged.
"Let go of my brother!" I yelled.
"Or else what? From all the noise you were making earlier, I gathered the info that you don't have an adult with you. You know what we do to misbehaving kids without a guardian?" The flight attendant smirked evilly.
Louie sobbed ridiculously.
"Nothing. Not only will you get three bad reviews from us, we also are very sure someone would report child abuse." Huey held up his phone and clicked the button that filed the bed reviews.
"You wanna go first instead?!" The flight attendant threatened.
"Please help! Somebody! Please! I'm begging you!" I pleaded to the people on the plane.
"Take him away! Take him away! Take him away!" The people on the plane started to chant.
The flight attendant's eyes started to glow and she carried Louie away.
"You are gonna allow this?!" I asked Huey.
"Oh sure. He's a real pain. So are you. This is all a scam vacation. Of course we don't have money for this. Unless we sold you two $$#•|€$!" Huey cussed.
I gasped.
"You would sell us for a vacation?!" I teared up.
"Duh. You two were just getting in the way. Uncle Donald's favorite was always little Louie so obviously he had to go first. Then you remind him of Della so you had to go too. Enjoy, little brother." Huey smirked.
"What?! No! Please, Huey! Don't let this happen!" I shouted.
I screamed as I was pulled away by the flight attendant and surrounded by a lot more.
"You are now our slaves." They chanted.
"No! No! NOOOOOOOO!" I cried.
"Dewey! Wake up! You've been screaming in your sleep again." Louie said.
I hugged him tightly which Louie obviously returns without hesitation.
"Today is the day of our first plane trip! Isn't that gonna be fun?!" Huey exclaimed.
I gasped.
I didn't wanna go on a plane trip.
"Uh...s-sure." I lied.
"Then let's go! See? This is why we sleep in our clothes for the next day!" Louie winked.
He pulled me out of bed as memories flashed through my brain of those viscous monsters from my dreams.
I shuddered and felt the goosebumps being painted across my body.
"You ok?" Louie asked.
"Just fine." I forced a smile.
Louie nodded, unsurely and continued to yank his stuffed suitcase downstairs.
"Time to go!" Uncle Donald shouted.
"I'm all set! I only have this small backpack here filled with the essentials to survival." Huey grinned.
A part of me wanted to tear his skin to pieces, but I knew that was just a dream, so I couldn't.
"At least pack deodorant!" Louie complained.
"I will use only what nature gives me." Huey huffed.
"Nature gives you deodorant. Now go on please. And I would pack some other toiletries and clothes too. You'd think you were Dewey." Louie laughed.
Hey!
Was he really comparing me to him?!
"When did you become the older brother?" Huey muttered as he went back to pack some other things.
"I guess he thought we were camping in the woods or something." Uncle Donald sighed.
We all laughed.
Huey came down about twenty minutes later with a couple more bags.
"Well now you've overpacked!" Louie pointed out.
"There's no time! Just take it! We are late!" Uncle Donald yelled.
I really didn't wanna go though.
What if this experience was the same as my dream?!
Louie started talking non-stop about how the plane trip was going to be great.
The more he talked, the more I got worried.
In the car, we had to sit differently than normal because of all our stuff.
Louie and I sat in the back smooshed together due to the bags taking up another seat.
Lucky Huey got the front.
When Louie started to sing a ridiculous plane song from a cartoon though, I actually felt tears streaming down my face.
He stopped midway through the song seeing that I was crying.
"What happened?" Louie asked, with a concerned expression.
I full on sobbed then.
Louie leaned his head on my shoulder and wrapped his arms around me.
Huey started climbing back to where we are sitting because we had stopped at a red light.
"How will you fit?" Louie frowned having seen the lack of space.
"Like this." Huey said as he lifted me up, sat in what was my seat, buckled himself, and had me sit on his lap.
Huey had his arms around my waist like a seatbelt of his own and Louie now just leans on Huey as he held onto my hand.
"Alright, gang! Time to unload!" Uncle Donald said.
We all got out and lugged our stuff into the luggage drop off.
Huey and Louie were whispering as we walked and I bowed my head in shame having known it was about me.
"Security time!" Uncle Donald sang.
Huey cheered and jumped up and down in excitement.
Louie got the worried look then.
"What did you sneak in?" I whispered.
"What didn't I sneak in is the question." Louie nervously laughed.
I looked around for a way to sneak his objects inside the airport.
"I'm going to go off to the bathroom, lock a stale, and hide your stuff in there during your security time. Once you get through, come to the bathroom and we'll trade places. So hand me your stuff." I told Louie.
Louie just took off his hoodie and switched our over-shirts.
"Awesome. Now hand me the rest." I deadpanned.
Louie huffed and shook our every item he had.
"How do you fit this stuff on you?!" I exclaimed.
"Meh. It takes skill and practice." Louie shrugged.
I rushed to the bathroom to hide there until Louie comes back.
"Wear my hoodie and say you're Louie. Everyone thought I was you. Also, remember the day we got our thumb prints in the system? Well we preformed a switch then so now your thumb print is for my profile and stuff." Louie told me.
"Well did you by chance sneak in any hair gel?" I asked hopefully.
Louie smirked and handed me some hair gel.
"I love you, you know." I grinned.
Louie tried to shove his hands into his non-existent hoodie pocket as he blushed and shrugged.
"And I know you love me too." I teased him as I tickled his stomach a bit in a teasing manor.
Louie folded his arms across his stomach as a shield as he grinned.
I gelled down my hair to look like Louie's and Louie gave me a thumbs up.
"Uncle Donald and Huey will know it's not you immediately." I pointed out.
"It's ok. Well explain later. I'm tired and I just want to get on this flight so I can go to sleep." Louie rubbed his tired eyes, adorably.
"Stay here, Lou Lou. I'll be right back." I said, as I kissed his forehead.
I climbed out of the bathroom stale from under it then I ran towards security.
I made it through, then I went to see Louie.
He had fallen asleep sitting on the bathroom stale floor.
Poor Louie!
I placed all his items he snuck in inside my carry-on bag and I changed into my spare set of my normal attire clothes.
Louie was shivering in his sleep, so I gently wake him to get him to change into his hoodie.
Louie silently did as told and then leaned into me again.
"Are y'all ok?" Huey yelled from somewhere in the bathroom.
He must have been sent to check on us.
I decided to just carry Louie to the plane since he clearly was too tired for some reason.
I exited and Huey made both Louie and I wash our hands.
Louie whined and whimpered, but soon he calmed down.
"What happened there?" Huey asked.
"I don't know. He randomly said he was tired as I left the bathroom and when I came back, he was asleep on the stale floor. It was really sad and weird." I explained.
Huey nodded and held his arms out to offer to take Louie.
I shook my head.
"I got Lou Lou. You go ahead and tell Uncle Donald what happened. I know Louie is pretty much always tired, but he's never this tired." I said.
"He is this lazy though. Louie, are you just being lazy and this is your plan to not have to walk?" Huey asked him.
Louie didn't even flinch in his sleep.
I started along the pathway in the airport to get to our plane.
I was still very nervous.
"Oh good. You're here. I think I'll go get an energy drink as these people get on the plane. I'm pretty tired you know." Uncle Donald yawned as we approached where we were to board the plane.
"No! I mean...we are boarding! Just sleep! There's no time." I pointed out as Huey gave me a look.
Uncle Donald sighed and got us all in line.
We finally boarded the plane and we sat how we were in my dream, except Uncle Donald was actually in Huey's row.
Huey told Uncle Donald what happened with Louie and Uncle Donald reached back to place a hand on Louie's forehead to test his temperature.
"He's a bit warm. I would watch that." Uncle Donald said.
"He's shivering though!" I protested, worried.
"That's even better sign of him getting sick. Does Louie have his travel bands on? To keep from getting airsick?" Uncle Donald asked.
I lifted Louie's hand and checked to see if he was wearing his travel bracelets/band things.
We was.
I have Uncle Donald a thumbs up.
He probably will need these pills and this Gatorade eventually too. If he wakes up." Uncle Donald pointed out.
I nodded and placed the said items in the side pocket of my backpack.
"Well now we don't have to worry about Louie freaking out during takeoff. That's been my biggest concern since we heard about this trip." Huey said.
I nodded and looked over at the sleeping Louie.
"Ahh! Mega space mutants four is coming out this weekend! We have to see it!" A little kid screamed REALLY loudly.
Louie woke as the people all started being really loud on the plane.
"I spoke too soon." Huey sighed.
"Why are we moving now? How did I get here? Help! Please make it stop!" Louie cried.
Of course.
I ran a hand through his hair to get his attention.
Louie turned towards me.
"It's ok. I carried you here. You fell asleep." I smiled.
"Oh. I don't wanna go. I thought if I could just be asleep and not even see the plane ride happen, I would be fine. I hate it. I want off of this thing!" Louie whined.
"Keep him in his seat! We are about to takeoff." Uncle Donald instructed.
"It'll be fine. Here. You can hold my hand during takeoff." I offered, having had remembered my dream.
Louie nodded and gripped my hand like in my dream.
That started to worry me even more.
What is my dream had come true?
Like, a bad one!
Not a good dream!
That frightened me too so I took advantage of having Louie scared as well beside me.
We held onto each other as the plane started to lift into the air.
"We're tipped back!" Louie gasped.
"I hate planes." Donald sighed.
"I thought this would be unsafe, but due to the structure and technology these people are using, there's only a 20% chance of a possible death." Huey noted.
I didn't wanna die at all!
"Don't freak your brothers out." Uncle Donald scolded Huey.
Huey apologized and then started watching a JW training video.
Louie sat there, wide-eyed, staring into the distance.
"I turned a show on my plane tv that was in front of me and I handed Louie an earphone.
Louie accepted it and watched the show with me for a while.
"Please stay seated as we approach one turbulence. Sorry for the trouble." The pilot said over the loudspeaker thingy.
Louie whimpered.
"What's wrong? The pilot will get us there safely." I assured Louie.
"He said stay seated and I need to go to the bathroom." Louie whispered.
"This should only take a few minutes. You'll be fine." I told him.
Louie nodded and continued to watch the show with me.
"For safety reasons, we are turning off the TVs so we can devote all power to the engine. Please keep all electronics off as well. This should take about 10-15 minutes to fly through this turbulence. We are also turning out the lights. Sorry for the inconvenience." The pilot said over the loudspeaker thingy.
Everything went out and all I heard were a few screams from random kids and Louie's sobs.
"Junior Woodchuck rule 188: always bring a flashlight." Huey shone a light back to us.
He handed us some flashlights before handing Uncle Donald one so we all had a flashlight.
"Thanks, Huey." Louie and I said quietly in unison.
About 10 minutes went by and we were still flying REALLY shakily through all the turbulence.
I looked towards Louie who was still crying.
"Let's play a game to distract us. What about categories?" I offered.
"Ooh! Can I play?" Huey asked.
"I'd expect nothing less!" I grinned.
We all did the little handclap to determine who gets to pick the category.
It ended up being Huey.
"What about...bodies of water. The Red Sea." Huey said.
"A swimming pool!" I joked, earning a glare from Huey.
Louie started crying again.
"What's wrong?" I asked him.
"I said I have to use the bathroom and you literally picked the category of bodies of water!" Louie whined.
I had forgotten about that.
Oops.
"There should be just a bit longer. I'm sorry, Louie. I didn't know." Huey apologized.
Louie nodded.
"Due to some unexpected length to this turbulence we are flying through, we should have about 10 more minutes now. Please stay seated." The pilot said making Huey and I mutter some unneeded stuff about irony.
Louie groaned loudly and Uncle Donald decided to step in.
"I don't care what they said. Come with me. I know it's shaky, but I'll help guide you." Uncle Donald started unbuckling his seatbelt.
Louie started to unbuckle his seatbelt as well and Uncle Donald lifted Louie out of his seat and into his arms.
Uncle Donald told Huey and I to stay seated and then he carefully made his way to the restrooms.
"That's fairly risky." Huey pointed out.
"Yeah." I agreed.
We sat in silence for a minute before Huey decided to speak up.
"What's up with you and Louie lately? It's like you have your own, secret language or something." Huey pointed out.
"We're just pretty close lately. Like how we used to be. Before we started fighting and all." I sighed.
"That wasn't my fault." Huey growled.
"Are you blaming it on me?!" I gasped.
"Well...I guess so. Who else do you see here for me to blame?" Huey huffed.
"You were the one that decided you had to be better than me at everything. Always one-upping me. You can never let me have anything!" I yelled.
"I'm the older brother! I should be better and I am! That's just something you will have to accept!" Huey shouted.
"Well you are a slug and don't dance. What's wrong? Afraid you aren't better than me at something? Oh no it's not. It's that you are better and you thought you'd be the 'Good Samaritan' and pretend I can do something you can't." I crossed my arms.
"There you go with your Bible references. Does everything you say come back to that?!" Huey asked.
"Of course! If it didn't, it would be speaking lies. I don't know why I even listen to you. I know you don't really know the Bible. Oh but heck, you know all the JW rules and have memorized EVERYTHING from there." I mocked him.
"You and Louie have never supported me with my JW stuff! I wish I had caring brothers! You are always rebuking me from your book." Huey growled.
"No. I'm rebuking you from God's book because He says that is correct. If I didn't love you, I wouldn't do it. Besides, when have you ever not stated Junior Woodchucks rules correcting Louie and I?" I asked, trying to calm down.
"Whatever! I'm stating logical, common sense and facts. You are stating a bunch of weird, ridiculous names, how long those oddly named people live, and a few things of how long some measurements of important items are." Huey listed.
"No! If you actually paid attention in church rather than having JW camping and adventure facts to mumble the whole time, you might understand why those things are important! It's SOOOOOOOOOOO times infinity much more than just that! I would tell you I hated you because of that, but then I would be called a murder because of that." I cried.
"Why? The JW doesn't say anything against saying that, so I will say it. Dewford Duck, I HATE you." Huey growled.
It had hurt me so bad, i seriously couldn't breath for a second.
"What happened while we were gone?" Uncle Donald asked, having seen us.
"Dewey and I had an argument on our different books and beliefs." Huey stated.
"Now Huey, you know the rest of the family and I don't exactly support your JW path, and we know you don't support our path, but we need to come to an agreement that we will absolutely not be offending each other with anything of the sort." Uncle Donald sighed.
"I believe in the Bible, but I also trust strongly in the JWG. It's more clear and precise. So I'm pretty much reading the clear version of the Bible." Huey shrugged.
Louie and I bit back replies.
Uncle Donald talked a bit more with Huey on that and after a while, it wasn't a problem.
"You ok now?" I asked Louie.
"You aren't, so I'm not." Louie told me.
I pulled him into a hug and we stayed there for a little while.
"We are about to exit the turbulence. Thank you for being patient and and doing as instructed. Well, mostly everyone." The pilot over the loudspeaker thingy.
Uncle Donald got pretty upset, but we calmed him down before he started yelling embarrassing things.
Soon, the lights and tv come back on and so Louie and I watch some tv.
"Please secure all personal items, put your tray tables up, and stay seated for our landing." The flight attendants coming down the isle instructed.
Louie threaded one of his arms through my arm and gripped onto my same arm with his free hand.
The plane started to lower slightly which caused Louie to scream.
People gave us nasty looks but I ignored them and focused on Louie.
"What's up, Lou Lou?" I whispered.
"I hate it. I REALLY hate this feeling. I don't wanna get on a plane again." Louie whimpered.
He's my triplet, yet he's so tiny and fragile.
I just wanted to cradle Louie and assure him that everything was ok.
The whole time the plane dropped, Louie sobbed and held onto me.
Normally we get to ditch the sobbing and only have the affection.
Huey seemed to be pretty miserable too.
"I think I'm gonna be sick." Huey groaned.
Uncle Donald rushed him to the bathroom even though we weren't supposed to get up again.
"Gross. Huey is sick." Louie frowned.
"Yeah. It's pretty gross." I agreed.
Served him right for having an argument with me about a risky topic.
Anyone could have kicked us out of the plane and let us fall, but they didn't.
Louie buried his head in my shoulder as we dropped more.
I knew we were about to hit the ground, so I held Louie's head still and gently played with his hair as I braved for the landing.
Louie still squealed, whined, and whimpered, but he was better than the takeoff.
Louie tried to get out of the plane, but people crowded the exit, fiddling with their bags.
"I want off." Louie cried.
"We have to wait for Uncle Donald and Huey." I said.
Louie laid across my lap and took hold of one of my hands.
"Affectionate, aren't we?" I teased.
He stuck his tongue out, but then smiled and relaxed again.
I knew Louie was trying to get to sleep so he didn't have to walk across the airport.
"I could always carry you if you just ask." I offered.
Louie shot up and nodded.
"How sick do you think Huey is? And why didn't he get sick throughout the rest of the flight?" Louie asked.
"I don't know, little bro." I rhymed.
Louie shoved me a bit.
"Oh so after all that trouble you gave me, now you're gonna shove me?"
I pointed out, grinning.
"Well you gave Huey and I trouble in the car." Louie shot back, playfully.
"True." I nodded.
"The people are finally starting to clear! Let's get off!" Louie cheered.
"No. We have to wait for Uncle Donald and Huey." I reminded Louie.
Louie groaned and crossed his arms.
"Hey, I need those stomach pills I handed you earlier, Dewey. I don't know what happened to Huey, but something did and it's not good." Uncle Donald ran to us.
I dug in my backpack for the pills before finding them in the side pocket.
I also handed Uncle Donald the Gatorade and he dashed back off to aid Huey.
"So are the airplane bathrooms nice?" I asked Louie.
"Not at the time. I was too scared about the turbulence and such that I didn't think too much of that." Louie shrugged.
"Excuse me, but we are preparing to clean the plane and we need all passengers to please exit." A flight attendant told us.
"Oh. Our Uncle is with my brother who is sick in the plane restroom." I explained.
Louie's hand found mine in fear as the flight attendant shook her head.
"Let me guess, you are twins?" She raised an eyebrow.
Louie nodded.
"Well, we're triplets." I said.
Louie nodded again.
"Oh. You are adorable though. I appreciate that you have your Uncle and brother here, but we will have to send you out. We will get them to you as soon as possible. I will escort you outside and stay with you until your Uncle and brother depart from the plane." The flight attendant showed us to the exit and walked out with us.
"We have to say here alone?" Louie started to cry again.
"Of course not! It's against the law. I have to stay here until your Uncle and brother get you. Did you not listen inside the plane?" The flight attendant asked.
Louie shook his head and clung to me.
"I wish I was as close as y'all are to my two brothers. We all are actually triplets." The flight attendant sighed.
"Cool! What's your name so we can stop writing 'flight attendant'?" I asked.
"Uh...my name is Mary. What are your names?" Mary asked.
"I'm Dewey. This is the baby triplet, Louie." I smirked at Louie.
Louie blushed and rolled his eyes.
"That's cool! My two brothers names rhyme with mine as well! They are Berry and Harry. You two are so adorable." Mary told us.
"Thank you." Louie and I grinned and said in unison.
After a while, Uncle Donald joined us, dragging along a sick-looking Huey.
It's hard to see your big brother like that.
I frowned and turned to Louie, saying all I needed to say by a simple expression.
"So, did you at least have a good flight?" Uncle Donald asked.
"Never again! Don't make me go back!" Louie begged.
"It's hard on relationships." I huffed remembering my fight with Huey.
"And it's hard on your stomach." Huey piped in, as he dashed to the restroom.
"Don't forget hard on your bladder." Louie added while dashing to the restroom for unrelated reasons.
Well I doubt we will ever be back on a plane again.
It's too hard!
