Caressing of skin, the skipping of hearts
Two lovers meeting in the shadows
Afraid of being seen, afraid of hurting
Hidden from sight of prying eyes they kiss and coo
But a secret never stays hidden, especially one that's forbidden.
A pair of eyes watches their folly
Emotions arising in cold eyes
Hate, fear, anger, sorrow, confusion
Her promise to him and him alone disappeared
Her heart had gone astray to another
Another man who was with her now
The golden band on his finger fell to the ground
Its meaning long forgotten by its mate's bearer
Her heart was with another, someone close to both
Someone he least expected
Chestnut locks met blonde as the secret lovers kissed
Violet met blue in a loving gaze, which was soon shattered
A shot rang out and a scream is heard
The secret was spoiled and a life's now gone
Eyes that once gave and received love now stared empty
A forbidden love was ended with tragedy
