Editor's Note: So this is my first time writing on here! This is based on the manga "Immortal Rain" by Kaori Ozaki. I was imagining what Freya Gaudry would have been thinking during her last moments when she was killed by Yuca. This is just a little short story. Do comment/review if you like it, or give me suggestions! :)
"Yuca…Yuca. Why are you crying?"
That was what I was thinking as I began to sink into the darkness, its tendrils reaching out to envelope me.
The black-haired young man stood before me, his gun raised at me. There was a little bit of smoke coming from the gun, which he had used to shoot at me. I could only gasp, feeling the pain explode through my body as I felt the bullet pierce my heart. I fell forward, seemingly in slow motion as my eyes looked into the cold eyes of Yuca Collabel, the man who had just shot me.
But I know why he killed me. He had to. I understood his meaning. He was lost in his madness and he was desperately trying to escape it. Earlier, I had confessed to him and said that I wanted to be his one reason for life. I wanted to help him-give him life. I just never thought he would use my life like this.
But I don't feel any anger or hatred. I only feel sorry for Yuca, my love. I had loved him since the first time I met him. I still love him even now in death. I just wish I had been able to help him more...Even when I was subjected to the "angel" experiments, I still didn't feel angry towards Yuca. There was a reason why he was doing these things..
"Freya! Please don't run too much."
Who was that? Oh. That must be Rain. Silly Rain. I tried to lift my hand to pat his cheek, to show that I was fine. But my body won't move-my soul has already left the now empty shell. I watched Rain hold me in his arms, weeping as my blood soaked his sleeves. He kept crying out my name, and I so desperately wanted to come back and brush that messy blonde hair out of his beautiful eyes and tell him that everything was all right. But my time here on Earth has come to an end.
"Don't cry on a sleepless night,
Don't fall asleep in cold rain."
Please save Yuca, Rain. Only you can do it.
