My Shadow
I walk alone in this long road.
Not knowing what will meet me in the end.
Or if there ever was.
With no one beside me but my shade.
My shadow.
The only one who never abandoned me.
The one who listened.
The one who understood me like no one could.
The one who knew exactly what I was going through.
My shadow.
The one who never said anything to hurt me.
Didn't do anything to make me cry.
The one who never added to the pain I had,
But made me happy instead of sad.
My shadow.
We are almost alike,
In that no one could see right through me.
And that I'm not transparent.
The reflection of me as dark as night.
My shadow.
But when the darkness closed in,
And no light able to penetrate.
I realized he's like everyone else.
A no show.
Realizing I can't trust anyone, not even,
