Spike's ice blue eyes looked down at the sleeping form before him. The boy's chest moved gently with every intake of breath, behind shut lids the vampire knew were a set of haunting brown eyes.

Let me in.

'So, are you afraid of big, bad me?' The vampire's tone was teasing as he lingered at the threshold of the door.

'What?' A nervous laugh as Xander tried to lean up against the door frame, missed and nearly toppled over making Spike chuckle. 'No way, why should I be scared of you, Spike? Just because you've tried to kill my best friend and have tormented half of Sunnydale,' Xander mock-scoffed, 'no reason for me to want to keep my distance, huh?'

Open the door.

Xander's lips part slightly, a small sound escaped his lips...part moan, part sigh.

Spike inched closer. Breath-taking!

'But that's in the past, pet. I'm a good boy now.' Spike mirrored Xander in leaning against the outer bit of the frame, though he did not falter, he did not topple over. Xander could not take his eyes off of him, he was so smooth.

Woaaaaaaah boy! His inner voice began to scold. Will's begun to play for the other team and Xander was cool with that, but he never expected himself to be looking at a guy with yummy-yummy written in his eyes , and least of all Spike! A vampire! Gah!

'Yah, I guess you're good now.' Xander shrugged, 'you've changed.' Spike had changed, a lot. He was no longer the baddie of Sunnydale, he'd actually turned...uh, well...good.

Spike tilted his head to the side in what could be an arrogant manner done by most, done by him it was just damn hot.

'Ok, you can come in.'

The blond vampire reached out, he ached to touch Xander's dark locks, to recollect on the adoration they once had for each other. For months they had been inseparable and it had been almost perfect, but then Willow returned and she had changed and with the change came that magnetic pull that Xander once had on Will, now it was the other way around and Xander decided that he was not gay.

'I'm reeeeeally sorry Spike, I didn't mean...' the streetlight outside the Bronze flickered brightly. Xander and Spike lingered in the alley nearby after Xander stated that he needed to chat with Spike.

Yet Spike stopped him mid-sentence, 'Save it for someone else.' His eyes narrowed, his voice was sharp. He did not want to hear his boyfriend of five months telling him it was over, not after Spike's feelings began to accelerate.

'I really am sorry, Spike...I...' but Spike just glared at Xander and Xander shut up, sighed and walked into the club leaving Spike alone in the flimsily-lit street.

So many memories, so many...

The vampire's jaw clenched. He could not get over Xander.

With one gentle motion Spike lifted his hand and brushed it against Xander's cheek as his heart began to crumble and break.

Careful who you let in.
