Darkness. That's the first thing I ever saw. Endless, inescapable darkness. But I wasn't afraid. Something told me that the darkness was going to help me, change me somehow. So after what seemed like an eternity of fighting it, I finally gave in and allowed it to flow over me. My eyes closed, and when I opened them. I was gazing into he most beautiful thing imaginable. It was the universe, all composed of one being. Chaos.
"My son," she said. Her words seemed like they carried all the joy of the universe, of every single being dead or alive. "I am here to revive you, and give you another chance at life."
Her words flowed into me, and I grasped them tightly, not wanting to close my eyes and wake up in that cold void. "Why me?" I asked, not even realizing I had spoken until she answered me.
"You were once a cruel, heartless being who only cared for himself. I watched as you were cast into my void, and I watched as you started to regret your actions until you could no longer remember them, or who you once were."
She reached out her presence, and it engulfed me in a soothing, calming way that made me smile.
"My son," she said, and I looked up to find a kind, motherly face looking down at me, her long, black hair dotted with stars. "Do you wish to begin again?"
I thought long and hard of the few things I could remember. Possessing a boy called Luke Castellan. Hardening his heart against the gods. Being exiled to the depths of Tartarus, to which I would never again awaken. Yet, here I am, still with a conscious mind.
I took a deep breath and nodded, . "Yes," I whispered. Chaos smiled, and warmth flooded through me, enveloping my entire soul.
"Your name is Kronos," she whispered, and I felt her presence slip away, and my eyes started to close. When I opened them again, I was in the middle of a forest, laying on my back in the grass.
"My name is Kronos," I whispered before my eyes closed again, and I fell into the darkness.
