Summary: Taking place in the events of Gundam Seed, Yzak finds himself being pulled closer to a certain woman in his life.
Comments:
I was crushed when I heard Chiaki Morosawa (screenwriter for Gundam Seed) died. At the same time, I was wondering what kind of character development Morosawa had in mind for Shiho Hahnenfuss. For sure, I believe that Yzak would have more screentime in the anime if they included Shiho Hahnenfuss in the anime. Pretty much, this fanfic is my take on how Gundam Seed would be if they included Shiho Hahnenfuss.
When doing this fanfic, I had to do major research on Gundam Seed to help me understand what was going on in the show. Not to mention, what was this character doing at this time and what was this other character doing at that time…XD
-PHASE 1-
A Fool's Errand
A fool's errand.
That's what this mission is.
Yzak grimaced in amusement. This is to be expected.
Although ZAFT had not given Rau Le Creuset full permission, Rau Le Creuset already imposed his team with the mission to raid the neutral colony in Earth. After learning that Earth Alliance's weapons are being kept in the neutral colony, there was a strong likelihood that the neutral colony was secretly working with ORB. The real question was what exactly were those weapons. Were they weapons that can kill? Or were they something far more greater and far more dangerous to be placed in the hands of the Naturals? Whatever these weapons may be, the Earth Alliance must not get their hands on them.
Clearly to Rau Le Creuset, the neutral colony became a threat. Not only to ZAFT, but also to himself and perhaps, to every Coordinators living in PLANTS.
Yzak, a Red Coat, along with the other Red Coats in the team were ascending onto the shuttle that was preparing to send them to Earth. As they hovered through the aisle and took their seats, a question from the bright auburn-haired Red Coat suddenly irked Yzak.
"Is it really okay to go ahead with this?"
Yzak looked warily at him. "What do you mean?"
The man's lips arched into a smile, "should we be doing what we're doing against this neutral Colony?"
"Well let me ask you," Yzak retorted, "is it all right for a neutral Colony to secretly manufacture weapons for the Earth Forces?"
The Red Coat kept his smile. "That shouldn't be allowed."
With that, Yzak stood silent and the conversation between them concluded when Yzak narrowed his eyes furiously at the laid-back Red Coat next to him.
His name was Dearka Elsman.
"Tell me when we get there."
"You dimwit!" Yzak shouted, "How can you relax at a time like this?"
With no response, Yzak rolled his eyes.
He propped one side of his face with his palm and sighed deeply.
The aircraft still haven't move.
Unbelievable.
He had no choice but to stay seated and wait. Before Yzak could drift off to his own thoughts, his ears caught hold of a conversation between the Red Coat he spoke to and the one near the Red Coat.
"What's bugging you, Athrun? You have been quiet for a while."
The blue-haired Red Coat stammered, "No…i-it's nothing, Rusty."
Rusty gave his friend's shoulder a nudge. "Lighten up, Athrun. It's not like you."
"Yeah…you're right."
"Once this raid is over, I can't wait to get back to Vesalius."
"What do you mean?"
"There's a girl that I'm dying to ask out."
Athrun blinked in bewilderment.
"I'm crazy about her. I heard she's becoming a Red Coat in our team."
In the end, Yzak scoffed.
We all know what happened to Rusty sadly XD. If he was alive, I think he would've make a cute pair with Meyrin. More importantly, who was the woman he was talking about?
