Tell me if you guys end up wanting more after this! It's just a oneshot for now, a little something I wipped up in my spare time... But I think it's some of my best work yet, to be honest. So if you guys want a second chapter, feel free to ask!

I don't own YuGiOh!

Yami sat with his legs crossed, waiting on a park bench. He'd never been one for patience, and the suspense was killing him. After all he and his aibou had been through together, he deserved to know now that he'd found a way back to the present.
Thinking about his aibou alone gave him shivers. He could hardly stand the wait to hold him in his arms, finally confess his love for the boy. He'd never been brave enough before, but he'd literally been to the afterlife and back. That kind of thing tended to make a person take risks they wouldn't usually take
This was going to be his first risk in awhile.
He checked his watch, a little worried. He'd made Yuugi promise to him that no matter what, he wouldn't let his death effect him. He'd made him promise that he was strong enough to make it. That meant continuing his routine. Yuugi had always taken walks through this park on days like today, at this exact time.
He hoped and prayed that he would be there soon, because it was starting to get chilly, and he wanted to surprise him there.
What was so special about the park, you ask?
It was the place where he had fallen in love with him.
The time was probably the most cherished moment of his existence. Yuugi had made it a point since he'd lost his memories to help him create new ones, ones from that time. He'd shown him things he couldn't dream of seeing in ancient Egypt, taught him so much about the culture of today. One of those things,as silly as it sounds, was showing him the Lion King.
It was actually one of the last things they had done together.
He could feel through the mind link that Yuugi had some kind of a purpose in showing him the film, and he figured it was just because it was a classic. To his surprise, that had nothing to do with it.
Later that night, Yuugi had asked him on a walk. Confused, he obliged willingly enough. Yuugi had walked most of the way in silence, taking in the night air and thinking deeply. Yami wanted to ask what was on his mind, but somehow he knew that Yuugi would explain if necessary.
Then, Yuugi stopped walking and sat directly on an ornate metal bench. Yami sat beside him, looking at him warily for a moment while he thought.
Finally, Yuugi broke the silence.
"I know you're not technically a king, but for my own sake, I'm going to believe what the Lion King said. I'm going to look up at the stars every night and think of you, and believe that you're looking down on me. Even if nobody else knows, I'll never stop believing. And if you believe in something hard enough, maybe, just maybe… you can make it true." Yuugi whispered. "Even if only for me, you'll be in my sky. So you can never truly leave." He finished brokenly, starting to choke up. He looked up at Yami with tears in his eyes, and Yami felt something click into place.
That was when he knew that he loved him.
"I'm sorry I have to go. But I'll make it to the sky for you, aibou." He said. Yuugi looked up and nodded, and they embraced. He knew that no matter what, Yuugi would love him. And that gave him the hope and courage to continue on, to find a way back to him.
Suddenly, there was a loud squeak as the gate to the park was opened. A small, star-haired boy walked through the gate, looking up at the sky. He had tears glimmering in his soft violet eyes, which Yami could see even from this distance. He silently approached, lurking in the shadows.
"Why are you crying?" He asked. Yuugi didn't jump, but simply continued walking.
"Because I can't find my favorite star."
