"Matt?"

"Yeah?"

The lawyer... looked up from the papers on his desk, flashing a smile at you. You return the smile, although a bit hesitant, and sit next to him, leaning against one hand, holding Matt's hand with the other.

"I have a confession to make..."

Matt raised an amused eyebrow. "Really?"

You nodded, leaning back into your chair. "I ate the last oreo."

"Matty?"

He looked up with curious eyes, a glint of amusement within them. "Yeah?"

You smile brightly, causing Matt to do the same. You lean against the doorframe of his office, a sheepish look on your face.

"I have another confession to confess..."

Matt laughed, setting down the papers at his desk. "What is it?"

You wiggle your eyebrows, even though you thought he couldn't see you. "I may have broken the doorknob again."

"Matt?"

He looked up from the paper work on his desk, a smile already on his face. "What's your confession, now?"

This time, you slowly made your way to his office, guilt clouding your vision. He sat there, as usual, doing his paperwork. Guilt flooded your senses, immediately regretting ever stepping into that tower... regretting that you ever ran your hands through his silver hair... Regretting ever meeting Pietro Maximoff. Tears ran down your cheeks, and your breath hitched as his eyes met yours. "Matthew?"

"Karen?"

The said girl looked up from the papers on his coffee table, a sad look on her face.

"She was pregnant?" She choked, tears streaming down her face. Matt avoided eye contact, choosing to look through the window.

"Are you ready?" He managed to ask, his dark glasses covering the pain in his eyes. Karen nodded, standing up. She unwrinkled her black dress, before going to stand by the doorway, waiting for her friend. Matt stood there, staring through the window at the brick wall. "Karen?"

She froze, turning to look at him. "Yes?"

Matt closed his eyes, memories flashing through his mind.

"I have a confession..."
